Stage of Destined Rivals

STAGE OF DESTINED RIVALS

While the Kirby Fighters series acted more or less as a Smash series of its own, proving quite helpful to me, actually, as I was putting this roster together. Still, it deserves a stage of its own, and I find the final stage where Kirby faces King Dedede and Meta Knight a perfectly fitting one.

As a stage, it will be more or less recreated from the game in all its glory, complete with statues of Kirby’s two rivals, perfectly flat as a Final Destination of sorts.

Springy-Hand Land

SPRINGY-HAND LAND

I always have one or two I sneak in, just because I really like the concept of them. This time, it’s Springy-Hand Land, a stage concept seen a few times across the 2.5D games that came out during the 3DS era, Triple Deluxe and Planet Robobot, and would also be featured as a stage in the Fighters series.

This stage would remain mostly as is from its appearance in the fighters series, featuring the row of giant hands on springs in the background that would periodically spring out to the foreground and take out anyone in their path.

Ringle

RINGLE

In Kirby Triple Deluxe, Kirby gained the Bell ability, basically a sound-based moveset, derived from the bell enemy Ringle. It is most notable for its appearances in the Kirby Fighters series.

As a fighter, Ringle will have high defense and lots of loud, noisy attacks. Its moveset will pull especially from the Kirby Fighter moveset.

Likelihood rating: Probably not.

Noddy

NODDY

Of course, not all copy abilities are going to be great, and one among them actively functions as a hazard. If Kirby swallows the sleeping Noddy, he will gain the Sleep ability, which will knock him out for a short time, making him vulnerable to all attack, but healing him of some damage.

As a fighter, Noddy will be slow and sluggish to control without a lot of power but good recovery. Its moveset will pull primarily from the Sleep Kirby moveset in Kirby Fighters 2.

Likelihood rating: Probably not.

Wrestler Kirby

WRESTLER KIRBY

Another of the sub-games expanded out into full games was the Kirby Fighters series, which functioned basically as a Super Smash Bros. for Kirby copy abilities. Though the first game just used the abilities present in Triple Deluxe, the sequel introduced an all-new never before seen ability.

This was Wrestler Kirby, decked out in a luchador mask and having all manner of abilities based on famous wrestling moves. In lieu of an enemy providing the ability, Wrestler Kirby will stand on his own.

As a fighter, Wrestler Kirby will match his stats and abilities as they present in Kirby Fighters 2, as it functions as a template for how a Smash moveset would function as well.

Likelihood rating: Piranha Plant clause.

Kirby Fighters 2

KIRBY FIGHTERS 2

Kirby Fighters 2 is a sequel to Kirby Fighters Deluxe, and thus basically Super Smash Bros. but with Kirby characters (mainly different copy ability Kirbys) as playable characters. The playable characters include Archer, Artist, Beam, Beetle, Bell, Bomb, Cutter, Fighter, Hammer, Ninja, Parasol, Staff, Sword, Water, Whip, Yo-Yo, and the brand-new completely original Wrestler Kirby. All of them have their own moveset, and to ease my workload, I'm just keeping a mark on the WiKirby page that lists their moves so I can just look them up when I'm doing the character sheet. It's much easier that way.

Outside of the Kirbys, Bandana Waddle Dee, Gooey, Magolor, Meta Knight, and King Dedede are also playable. Our stages include the Star Allies-based Green Gardens, Springy-Hand Land, Dried-Up Sea (based on Planet Robobot), a basic training arena, Gourmet Go Go (based on Gourmet Race), Bubbly Clouds, Haldera Volcano, Castle Lololo, Waddle Dee Train Tracks, Coo's Forest, Dedede Arena, Butter Building, Factory Tour, Gigavolt (based on the boss battle), Dynablade's Nest, Jambastion Entrance (from Star Allies), The Empyrean (based on the Clash games), Fountain of Dreams, and the Stage of Destined Rivals (or Partners), which is basically the final battle arena.

Two Whispy Woods, two Gigant Edges, and Shadow Kirby act as bosses. Action Stars, Bombers, Buddy Star Blasters, Cheer Pom-Poms, Containers, Crackers, Cracklers, Dash Shoes, Food, Gordo Balls, Ice Containers, Invincible Candies, Mikes, Mint Leaves, Timed Dynamite, and a Zap Weapon are the items.
