 POKEMON ULTRA SUN AND ULTRA MOON

After Gen VI got no third game at all, Gen VII decided to follow Gen V's lead and have a duo of games as the third. This one is not a sequel, the way Black 2 and White 2 were, but the standard expanded remake just like Crystal, Emerald, Platinum, and so on.

The big changes this time include a more expanded look at the Ultra Dimension, going from basically a limited cave in the first two games to a full city in this version, with the Ultra Recon Squad appearing as supporting characters, agents from the Ultra Dimension who cam through the rifts to try and fix the problem. Ultra Sun has Dulce and Zossie, and Ultra Moon has Phyco and Soliera. We also expand a bit more on the story of Lusamine and her family, changing her motivation from simply power-hunger to a whole story about her husband Mohn getting lost in a rift and her becoming obsessed with trying to find him. We later find him with no memories living on a remote island.

We also have a whole bonus post-game story starring Team Rainbow Rocket, which brings together Giovanni, Archie, Maxie, Cyrus, Ghetsis, and Lysandre, the villains of previous games (technically these are alternate universe versions), and has you fight them all. Red and Blue also return briefly in the story. Also I forgot to mention, the post-game story of the first two featured Anabel, the old Gen III Frontier Brain, as the head of Looker's agency.

We also have a slight change in the Elite Four, as Molayne ends up as a member this time instead of Hala. We also meet Ryuki, a Dragon trainer from another region, who challenges you a few times, officially making this the first time all eighteen types have had a specialist in one game, with Sina and Dexio being Ice and Psychic type trainers.
