Star Kirby 3

Way back in 1992, alongside the Nintendo Power comics, there was also a run of Kirby comics that ran only in Japan, with a host of original characters cropping up here and there. One of the most notable is a robot Kirby made when taking interest in robotics for the issue.

This robot was dubbed Star Kirby 3, the first two having eloped together shortly after being born. Star Kirby 3 would become a companion to Kirby afterwards, popping up frequently.

As a fighter, Star Kirby 3 would be based on Kirby, if a little heavier and slower. His moveset will pull from his actions within the game.

Likelihood rating: Non-game.

Talus

One way you might find yourself taken by surprise in this new open-world Hyrule, is climbing a hill, hopping on a large boulder for a better view, only for that boulder to come to life and start attacking you.

This is a Talus, a new monster type in Breath of the Wild. It comes in various forms depending on where it's found, and it's main mode of attack is hiding in plain sight until you make the mistake of stepping on it.

As a fighter, it will be big and tough, with the sturdiness of solid granite. Its moveset will pull from its various battles, especially the new boss battle in Echoes of Wisdom.

Likelihood rating: Probably not.

Volvagia

At the end of the Fire Temple, you will encounter a fire-breathing dragon living in lava.

This is Volvagia, a recurring boss of the Zelda series, notable for his long body and fiery locks.

As a fighter, Volvagia will have great aerials and lots of power, though not so good at personal defense. His moveset will pull from his boss fights.

Likelihood rating: Probably not.

Dampe

Just up the hill from Kakariko Village, you'll find a graveyard with lurking spirits and an old misshapen caretaker.

This is Dampe. One of the most memorable changes between the past and future Hyrules of Ocarina is the fate of Dampe, who will have passed away in the interim years, now haunting the graveyards as a ghost himself. Dampe would recur throughout the series, often in the 2D games, and ran the dungeon maker in the Link's Awakening remake.

As a fighter, Dampe will be slow without a lot of power behind him. His main strength will be his durability, gained from his ghostly self. His moveset will pull from all across the Zelda series.

Likelihood rating: Probably not.

Still World

To represent Echoes of Wisdom, the biggest new unique location is the Still World, the world inside the rifts created by Null, where pieces of the world already taken now float at odd angles inside the void.

This stage will be set in that area, with the main platforms being sections of ground set at different angles, with the occasional bed and other echoed objects appearing here and there.

Potential theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4apY_NtexM

Skorchill

At several points while climbing the mountain, Zelda and Conde encounter another yeti that Conde believes to be his brother, only for it to attack, leaving Conde to believe he's done something wrong.

This yeti turns out to be Skorchill, the final boss of the Lanayru region. It is apparently not Conde's brother, but a mere creation of Null, endowed with both ice and fire power.

As a fighter, Skorchill will be powerful and fast, able to switch between its two different elements at will. Its moveset will pull from its boss battle.

Likelihood rating: Never gonna happen.

Conde

In the Lanayru Highlands, Zelda finds herself taken in by a big friendly yeti.

This is Conde, a young yeti waiting for his older brother to return from an adventure. He helps you make your way up the mountain, hoping to find his brother on the way.

As a fighter, Conde will be big and strong, though a bit on the slow side. He will be an echo of Yeto and Yeta from Twilight Princess, pulling from the same sources.

Likelihood rating: Probably not.

Darston

In order to stop Null once and for all, Zelda must gather the pieces of the Triforce from Eldin Volcano, Faron Wetlands, and Lanayru Highlands. Heading up to the Eldin region, Zelda encounters the game's Gorons, led by their newly appointed chief.

This is Darston, the son of the previous chief who still clings to a book of advice from his father, having no experience as a leader himself. He helps and accompanies Zelda through much of her journey during this chapter.

As a fighter, Darston will be big and durable, much like most of the Gorons currently playable. He will be an echo of Yunobo, the two characters having a lot of similarities.

Likelihood rating: Probably not.

Null

After clearing out Gerudo Desert and Zora's Domain of rifts, Zelda and Tri launch their assault on Hyrule Castle, finding and fighting Ganon there and slaying him, only to discover he was merely an echo of the real Ganon. Another rift opens, and Zelda gets her first look at the real villain.

This is Null, a being of pure entropy who existed in the void before the world was and devoured all that tried to exist. The Goddesses Din, Nayru, and Farore created the world of Hyrule as a prison to keep Null contained, leaving the Triforce behind as a seal against it. After so many centuries, Null has finally started to break through.

As a fighter, Null is powerful and overwhelming, most of its moves based on its boss battle and designed to spread its influence across the stage and consume the other fighters.

Likelihood rating: Good possibility.

Mogryph

MOGRYPH

At the end of the Gerudo Sanctuary dungeon, Zelda will be attacked by a giant mole with wings.

This is Mogryph, the boss of the Gerudo Desert chapter. Though mostly a standard "mole boss" common to video games, the inclusion of wings proved to make him just slightly more versatile than average.

As a fighter, Mogryph will be tough and strong, with decent aerials and the ability to burrow for defense. His moveset will pull from his boss fight.

Likelihood rating: Never gonna happen.

Dohna

Zelda's journey takes her out to Gerudo Desert, where she needs the Gerudo's help to get into the sanctuary where the entrance to the rift there is. Political strife among the Gerudo places obstacles in her way, and it is only through the help of the Gerudo princess Dohna that she is able to reach the entrance.

Dohna is our standard Gerudo rep this time around, just like Nabooru, Urbosa, and Riju before her. She helps you and accompanies you mainly throughout the Gerudo Desert chapter.

As a fighter, she will be an echo of Urbosa specifically, pulling her moves from Urbosa's but reworked slightly to fit her more.

Likelihood rating: Probably not.

Tri

In 2024, a brand new 2D Zelda game was unveiled, this time starring Zelda as the main protagonist for the first real time in the mainstream series. The game starts out like the standard ending of a Link-led game, with Link taking down Ganon to free Zelda, only for a rift to open up and swallow the hero, leaving Zelda to figure out what became of him and stop the spreading rifts. She encounters a strange little fairy creature in the process.

This is Tri, a spirit born from the Triforce, seeking their friends who have been swallowed up in the rifts. Tri becomes Zelda's main companion, supplying her with the Tri Rod and acting as the source of her moveset in the game. Tri and their people are revealed to be spirits left behind by the goddesses to fight Null.

As a fighter, Tri will act as the gimmick representative for the game, their moveset pulling from Zelda's core mechanics in the game itself. They will be light and floaty, making use of echoes for most of their attacks.

Likelihood rating: Could happen.

Star Kirby 3

STAR KIRBY 3

Our last character to tend to this time around is Star Kirby 3, a robot built by Kirby in a Japan-only manga. He is the third of his kind, the first two having run away together after Kirby built them. The third remained and seems to have been an active companion to Kirby for much of the manga's run.

Here is the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Swallow

He likes to eat, like Kirby, so we'll start with a basic one of those moves.

Side B: Jet Boots

He will start up his jet boots and launch forward at high speed.

Up B: Wrong Jump

He will leap high into the air, but always in the opposite direction from the way you pressed.

Down B: Candy Rain

He will cause candy to rain from above, doing light damage while also providing him food to heal with.

Final Smash: Star Kirby Trio

His two predecessors will return, and the three robots will attack an opponent together.

Entrance: He will be activated.

Taunts: Up, he will hold up a big number three. Side, he will do a little dance but mess up. Down, he will break down for a second.

Kirby Hat: His glasses and star symbol.

Kart: A robotic version of the warp star.

Special Move: Turning all oncoming attacks into candy.

Spirit Battle: A three-person battle on Green Greens.

Victory Screen: He will do a little dance with his siblings.

Losing Screen: He will break down and start sparking.

Color Swaps: His normal look, a 1 on his forehead, a 2 on his forehead, Kirby color, Meta Knight color, yellow, green, and red.

Kirby Requests

KIRBY REQUESTS

So, way back when I was about wrapped up with the original Kirby run, I received a message from someone listing four characters that apparently only appear in Japan-only works that all the wikis I looked at seemed to omit. Which is weird, since there were a lot of Japan exclusives covered, but I digress. Wikis are imperfect by design.

First up is Nana, a waitress appearing in a comic that loosely translates to "Pupuland is in Big Trouble" from 1992. Information on this is very difficult to find, a lot of it in Japanese, and I only trust Google Translate as far as I can throw it, but here's what I've gathered. In her few appearances, she feeds Kirby superspicy curry, gives him an energy drink, and sings a song that makes food real. Not quite enough, and I can't find anything else, so it's gonna be a NO. (Fun Assist Trophy option though).

Next up is Cheeby, from the comic "Kirby of the Stars." He is a little ice cream cone looking guy, who might be Kirby's guardian angel or something (This one of those where it really feels like a translation flub) who turns into the enemy Dizzy when his cone hat is stolen. Not much else there I could find, so NO.

Next is the Blue Fish from "Kirby und das Geheimnis des Glibbers" (couldn't find any good translation on that one). He is just kind of carried around in a fishbowl, but can apparently drive the bowl and walk around on his own, but there's not much else I could find. NO.

Then there's Star Kirby 3, from "Kirby of the Stars." He is a robot built by Kirby, patterned after himself. He likes to eat like Kirby, jumps in the wrong direction a lot, has jet rockets on his feet, and . . . drinks a potion that turns rain into candy? Am I reading that right? Um, there is quite a bit there, so I think I'll say YES for this one.

I guess I'm doing Star Kirby 3 tomorrow!

Character Sheet: Skorchill

SKORCHILL

Now, let's go over the new characters brought to us by Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. I have the time, so, let's just do the character sheets. Also, I just remembered that somebody sent me a list of Kirby characters, so I'll go through them after this list is done.

1. Tri

2. Dohna

3. Darston

4. Conde

5. Dampe

6. Null

7. Talus

8. Volvagia

9. Mogryph

10. Skorchill

Finally, we have Skorchill, the final boss of the Lanayru Highlands section of Echoes of Wisdom. For a long stretch of the game, you believe it to be an evil echo of Conde's missing brother, but then it's just . . . not, for some reason. Either way, it's a big angry yeti that attacks you with a combination of fire and ice attacks.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Side B: Hat Switch

You can switch between the fire and ice hats with this move.

Side B: Dancing Stomp OR Fireball

He will either dance and cause icicles to fall from above, or spit fireballs from his mouth.

Up B: Yeti Jump

He will perform his massive jump.

Down B: Ice Spin or Fire Tornado

He will either spin in a circle, causing a vortex of freezing wind around himself, or he will breathe out a tornado of fire that will spin in place.

Final Smash: Climate Roar

He will let out a roar that, depending on the hat he's wearing, will cover the entire stage in ice, or light the entire stage ablaze.

Entrance: He will drop from above.

Taunts: Up, he will adjust his hat on his head. Side, he will beat on his chest. Down, he will do his little dance without the earth-shaking stomps.

Kirby Hat: The hat.

Kart: A vehicle based on his hat.

Special Move: He can either freeze the entire stage, or set it ablaze.

Spirit Battle: A giant battle on Snowpeak Ruins

Victory Screen: It will roar, causing a mountain-wide blizzard.

Losing Screen: Its death animation.

Color Swaps: Its normal white fur, its crystalline form, brown fur, red fur, black fur, blue fur, purple fur, and silver fur.

Thanks for reading! Next up, I want to go over that list of Kirby characters.

Character Sheet: Mogryph

MOGRYPH

Now, let's go over the new characters brought to us by Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. I have the time, so, let's just do the character sheets. Also, I just remembered that somebody sent me a list of Kirby characters, so I'll go through them after this list is done.

1. Tri

2. Dohna

3. Darston

4. Conde

5. Dampe

6. Null

7. Talus

8. Volvagia

9. Mogryph

10. Skorchill

Next up is Mogryph, a griffin mole appearing as a boss in Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. It's rather unique, being mostly your standard digging mole type boss, but now with wings that it can fly with. That uniqueness gives it more than enough to work with.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Side B: Sand Swipe

It will slash forward, causing a small wave of sand to smack opponents a little further away.

Side B: Twister

It will whip up small tornadoes to spin characters around and send them flying.

Up B: Flight

It will use its wings to fly upward, away from the fight.

Down B: Burrow

It will burrow underground and will be able to move a bit while down there.

Final Smash: Sand Vortex

It will fill the stage with sand and drag the players down into it, sorta like the effect blocking you from the dungeon.

Entrance: It will burst out of the ground.

Taunts: Up, it will let out a roar. Side, it will flare its wings and try to look scary. Down, it will bury its head.

Kirby Hat: Its goggles and wings.

Kart: Moving in a wave of sand.

Special Move: It will burrow and be able to move around without fear of being hit.

Spirit Battle: A giant battle on Gerudo Valley.

Victory Screen: It will roar, and a rift will swallow up everything.

Losing Screen: Its standard death animation.

Color Swaps: Normal brown fur, black fur, gray fur, blue fur, red fur, green fur, purple fur, and golden fur.

Thanks for reading! Next up, Skorchill lurks in the mountains.

Character Sheet: Volvagia

VOLVAGIA

Now, let's go over the new characters brought to us by Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. I have the time, so, let's just do the character sheets. Also, I just remembered that somebody sent me a list of Kirby characters, so I'll go through them after this list is done.

1. Tri

2. Dohna

3. Darston

4. Conde

5. Dampe

6. Null

7. Talus

8. Volvagia

9. Mogryph

10. Skorchill

Next up, we have Volvagia, the iconic dragon boss first appearing in Ocarina of Time. Now, previously, it has not had enough to be playable, though it did sort of have representation through the character Volga, who took heavy inspiration from it. Now, though, thanks to Echoes of Wisdom, the creature itself now has more than enough.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Side B: Amulet Bomb

It will summon up a large green ball of energy and blast it at the players.

Side B: Fire Tails

It will swing its long fire hair around, burning anyone they touch.

Up B: Dragon Flight

It will launch itself straight up into the sky and hover for a second.

Down B: Lava Pool

It will dive into a pool of lava to avoid damage for a while.

Final Smash: Dragon Rampage

It will grow giant and play out its standard boss fight.

Entrance: It will burst from a pool of lava.

Taunts: Up, it will roar and breathe smoke. Side, it will shake its head, swinging its fire hair back and forth. Down, it will dig to try to make a new lava pool.

Kirby Hat: Its head and hair.

Kart: Just flying.

Special Move: It will dive into a lava pool, leaving it behind as a hazard.

Spirit Battle: A giant battle on Death Mountain Omega Mode.

Victory Screen: It will roar and fly around in a circle.

Losing Screen: Its standard death animation.

Color Swaps: The standard appearance, a more red version, a green version, a blue version, a purple version, a black and purple version, a whitish-pink (Luckdragon) version, and a gold version.

Thanks for reading! Next up, Mogryph rules the earth and sky.

Character Sheet: Talus

TALUS

Now, let's go over the new characters brought to us by Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. I have the time, so, let's just do the character sheets. Also, I just remembered that somebody sent me a list of Kirby characters, so I'll go through them after this list is done.

1. Tri

2. Dohna

3. Darston

4. Conde

5. Dampe

6. Null

7. Talus

8. Volvagia

9. Mogryph

10. Skorchill

Taluses are large golems made of rock, probably named after the giant Greek automaton Talos, that first appeared in Breath of the Wild, adding a new danger to your standard gameplay by having even the rocks come to life to attack you. Echoes of Wisdom included at Talus as a boss, giving us just enough to work with that they gain playability.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Side B: Rock Throw

The Talus will pick up and throw a heavy boulder.

Side B: Stone Fist

It will launch its fist forward to slam into its opponents.

Up B: Arm Spin

It will spin its arms around in a vortex, whipping up a dust cloud.

Down B: Seismic Slam

It will slap its hands down on the ground hard.

Final Smash: Stage Talus

The entire stage will start to rumble and move, revealing itself to be one big Talus that will tromp around and try to get the players off of it.

Entrance: It will start as a boulder, then rise.

Taunts: Up, it will raise its arm and wave it around. Side, it will turn side to side, trying to see anything. Down, it will crumble for a second.

Kirby Hat: Kirby made of rock.

Kart: Rolling like a boulder.

Special Move: Causing another Talus to rise from the track.

Spirit Battle: A giant battle on Bokoblin Camp, with three Bokoblins helping.

Victory Screen: It will go back to its resting state.

Losing Screen: It will fall apart and explode.

Color Swaps: A standard appearance, covered in moss, covered in black ore, made of red rock, made of metallic ore, wearing a Bokoblin encampment, the Seismic Talus, and a gold Talus.

Thanks for reading! Next up, Volvagia reigns fire!

Character Sheet: Null

NULL

Now, let's go over the new characters brought to us by Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. I have the time, so, let's just do the character sheets. Also, I just remembered that somebody sent me a list of Kirby characters, so I'll go through them after this list is done.

1. Tri

2. Dohna

3. Darston

4. Conde

5. Dampe

6. Null

7. Talus

8. Volvagia

9. Mogryph

10. Skorchill

Next up, we have our brand new villain, Null. Null is the void that existed before the world was, a beast that dwelled in the nothingness and devoured anything that tried to come into existence. Din, Nayru, and Farore created Hyrule and all of existence to keep Null contained, and now it has finally started to break through, striving to devour the world and everything on it, using puppet replicas of those it takes in order to further those goals. It's very fun, having an even bigger bad than Ganon or even Demise.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Side B: Shadow Orb

It will toss an orb of darkness at a player, which will inflict heavy damage with little knockback.

Side B: Grabbing Arms

It will thrust forward, its arms appearing from portals three spaces ahead of it and trying to grab players.

Up B: Rift

It will open a rift and disappear inside it, appearing from a new one a few seconds later.

Down B: Dark Echo

It can catch other characters in rifts. After capturing them, it can then spit out a dark echo that will run around and fight. The characters will break free after a couple of seconds.

Final Smash: Null and Void

The entire stage will be pulled into a rift, leaving the characters as empty husks and Null free to attack them at will.

Entrance: It will emerge from a void and try to claw its way out.

Taunts: Up, it will raise up a couple of extra hands and wave them around. Side, it will shake itself and look angry. Down, it will stab Ganon's trident into the ground.

Kirby Hat: Kirby will get its blackened outer shell.

Kart: It will travel through a moving rift.

Special Move: Dragging players into rifts for a moment.

Spirit Battle: A giant battle on Stillworld, accompanied by dark versions of Link, Zelda, and Ganon.

Victory Screen: It will devour and consume all.

Losing Screen: It will be sealed away once more.

Color Swaps: Its main battle mode, its cloudy mode, a red version, a blue Ganon version, a purple version, a white version, an all-black version, and a silver version.

Thanks for reading! Next up, Talus rocks your world!

Character Sheet: Dampe

DAMPE

Now, let's go over the new characters brought to us by Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. I have the time, so, let's just do the character sheets. Also, I just remembered that somebody sent me a list of Kirby characters, so I'll go through them after this list is done.

1. Tri

2. Dohna

3. Darston

4. Conde

5. Dampe

6. Null

7. Talus

8. Volvagia

9. Mogryph

10. Skorchill

Dampe is a recurring face throughout the Zelda series, often the local cemetery keeper, often older, with a misshapen face and a slight hunch. Sort of a Quasimodo archetype, generally. Though older games have given him a few things to work with, like his lantern and his shovel, he didn't quite have enough to go on until Echoes of Wisdom, where he is inexplicably now an inventor, building robotic versions of various enemies. And suddenly he's made it.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Side B: Automaton

He will create a robot of various enemies from Echoes of Wisdom, and release it. It will then be free to fly around the stage and cause problems for a short time.

Side B: Will o' Wisp

He will launch a flame from his lantern, where it will land and then stay in place, burning anyone who touches it.

Up B: Ghostly Presence

He will transform into a ghost, flying upward and becoming intangible for the duration of the move.

Down B: Shovel

He will dig into the ground, creating a grave that players can fall into.

Final Smash: Inventing Process

He will grab a player and throw them into his invention machine, pumping it and working it for a while, before a robotic version of the player is popped out.

Entrance: He will wander back and forth with a lamp.

Taunts: Up, he will stretch and yawn for a moment. Side, he will wave his lantern back and forth, looking around. Down, he will stop and rest, wiping his head.

Kirby Hat: Kirby will get his lower jaw.

Kart: Based on a headstone from Ocarina.

Special Move: Turning into a ghost and becoming intangible.

Spirit Battle: On a night version of Kakariko Village. Poes will also appear from time to time, as enemies of both he and the player.

Victory Screen: He will kick back in a chair and take a nap.

Losing Screen: He will turn into a ghost and fade away.

Color Swaps: Link's Awakening version, Ocarina version, Majora's Mask version, Four Swords version, Minish Cap version, Link Between Worlds version, Echoes of Wisdom version, a ghostly version.

Thanks for reading! Next up, Null devours all.

Character Sheet: Conde

CONDE

Now, let's go over the new characters brought to us by Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. I have the time, so, let's just do the character sheets. Also, I just remembered that somebody sent me a list of Kirby characters, so I'll go through them after this list is done.

1. Tri

2. Dohna

3. Darston

4. Conde

5. Dampe

6. Null

7. Talus

8. Volvagia

9. Mogryph

10. Skorchill

For the companions of each species in Echoes of Wisdom, I went into it asking two questions. 1) Where are there echo spaces available, and 2) How much does the individual in question actually help. That resulted in three clear newcomers: Dohna, Darston, and Conde. Blossu is much, much less involved in the Faron Wetlands story segment than the others, while Dradd and Kushara presented the problem of there being two of them equally prominent in the story and only one echo available. That said, both mostly just show up at key moments and play their instruments, so it was easy to just knock them out.

Conde is a yeti, a species rarely seen since Twilight Princess. He is a fairly simple, happy-go-lucky creature whose brother went away on an expedition some time before, and he is struggling with loneliness and the notion that his brother is mad at him somehow. He helps you throughout the Lanayru Highlands.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Side B: Frozen Punch

As an echo of Yeto and Yeta, he'll have similar to theirs, though I imagine he wouldn't hit quite as hard as Yeto would.

Side B: Ice Cannon

Maybe just a Freezard this time, with him summoning it like an echo.

Up B: Super Jump

This one I will change, since he is shown to be able to leap really high.

Down B: Stew

He does tend to Zelda and Tri at one point, so I think serving healing stew still works.

Final Smash: Abominable Blizzard

Less a recreation of Yeta's boss battle, and more a recreation of Skorchill's fight.

Entrance: He will emerge from his hut.

Taunts: Up, he will use a spyglass to search the skies hopefully. Side, he will do his adorable happy dance. Down, he will sit down and snooze for a second.

Kirby Hat: His while fur around Kirby like a coat.

Kart: Based on his brother's hot air balloon.

Special Move: Jumping really high up and landing very far ahead.

Spirit Battle: On Snowpeak Ruins.

Victory Screen: Doing his little happy dance.

Losing Screen: Floating in the void drained of color.

Color Swaps: With his normal white fur, with gray fur, brown fur, black fur, orange fur, blue fur, yellow fur, and green fur.

Thanks for reading! Next up, Dampe prepares your grave.

Now, let's go over the new characters brought to us by Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. I have the time, so, let's just do the character sheets. Also, I just remembered that somebody sent me a list of Kirby characters, so I'll go through them after this list is done.

That said, both mostly just show up at key moments and play their instruments, so it was easy to just knock them out.

Darston was the easiest of the batch to decide on, as he accompanies you pretty much up to the point of you entering the rift in this game, helping you get through certain challenges. He is the new chief of the Gorons, newly crowned, and isn't quite confident in his own abilities yet. For this reason, I intended to place him as an echo for Yunobo, except that Rosso was in that spot. Still, I think it's fine to swap Rosso over to Daruk's echo, and have Darston act in Yunobo's place.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Rocket Fist

About the same here.

Side B: Double Slap

A bit weaker, maybe.

Up B: Goron Cannon

About the same.

Down B: Rock Roast

They did have a slight Rock Roast variant in this game, so it works.

Final Smash: The New Chief

He and his advisors will stand together and deliver one gigantic punch.

Entrance: He will emerge from a rift.

Taunts: Up, he will think for a moment to remember his dad's advice. Side, he will flip through the advice book. Down, he will hang his head and look uncertain.

Kirby Hat: His hair.

Kart: Based on a rolling Goron.

Special Move: Thinking for a minute, then popping up a suggestion for the player, like moving to the right or something, or alerting them to shortcuts.

Spirit Battle: On Death Mountain, with three Goron guards.

Victory Screen: Standing at his throne as his advisors dance around him.

Losing Screen: Floating in the void drained of color.

Color Swaps: His normal color, based on Gol, based on Silv, based on all of his notable advisors.

Thanks for reading! Next up, Conde searches for his brother.

For Dohna specifically, we had echo spots open for Urbosa and Riju. I was going to pick Riju, since Dohna fills a similar role, but then I remembered Riju has a sand seal factored into her moveset, and that was just not gonna fly here. So, an echo for Urbosa it is.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Dohna's Fury

Certainly not quite as powerful, but it's still up there.

Side B: Gerudo Slash

Using her cutlass instead.

Up B: Desert Cyclone

Down B: Energy Barrier

Probably more energy and less lightning.

Final Smash: Sand Burial

She will flood the stage with sand, much as her people did to conceal the Gerudo Sanctum in the game.

Entrance: She will emerge from a rift.

Taunts: Up, she will cower as dark orbs swirl above her. Side, she will train with her weapon. Down, she will cross her arms and stand firm.

Kirby Hat: Her hair

Kart: Based on the caromadillo.

Special Move: Leaving a sand pile behind.

Spirit Battle: On Gerudo Desert, with three Gerudo guards.

Victory Screen: Standing before the sanctum as the rift disappears.

Losing Screen: Floating in the void drained of color.

Color Swaps: Her normal outfit, based on Seera, based on Facette, based on a guard, based on a caromadillo, based on Mogryph, based on Zelda, and drained of color.

Character Sheet: Tri

TRI

Now, let's go over the new characters brought to us by Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. I have the time, so, let's just do the character sheets. Also, I just remembered that somebody sent me a list of Kirby characters, so I'll go through them after this list is done.

1. Tri

2. Dohna

3. Darston

4. Conde

5. Dampe

6. Null

7. Talus

8. Volvagia

9. Mogryph

10. Skorchill

For our gimmick rep this time around, we'll be using Tri for most of it. If you want to imagine it as the Toy/Toon Zelda with Tri following her around, maybe with the hood up to be distinct, that's fine too. Tri will use all of the abilities they provide to Zelda, with all the echoes, binding, and reverse bonds. It's pretty straight forward, so let's go.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Fighter Echo

A fighter-based echo based on one of the many enemies in the game will appear, that will then attack for you. It will be a random from a selection of maybe five, and you can only have one out at a time.

Side B: Bind

You will grab an opponent with your binder ability and be able to pull them toward you.

Up B: Platboom

You will summon a platboom echo, that you'll be able to stand on top of.

Down B: Item Echo

You'll drop a bed, rock, box, or other item, making a new platform on the stage.

Final Smash: Triforce Cleansing

Tri will summon up a swarm of their species, which will start to swirl around in a circle before cleansing the stage of all rifts (AKA opponents).

Entrance: They will hop out of one of those portal things they open.

Taunts: Up, they will swirl around with magic sparkles. Side, they will wave around their own wand. Down, they will create a bed and sleep on it.

Kirby Hat: The Triforce pieces following him around.

Kart: A floating platform enemy.

Special Move: They will perform a reverse bond and let someone else drive them for a while.

Spirit Battle: Zelda and Tri together on Still World.

Victory Screen: An animation of a rift disappearing.

Losing Screen: Tri simply floating colorless in the void.

Color Swaps: The standard gold color, the colors of the six medallions from Ocarina of Time, and a white colorless version.

Thanks for reading! Next up, Dohna carries the Gerudo spirit.

Metroid and Kirby Revisit

METROID AND KIRBY REVISIT

Well, we've got to at least have a check-in. And the result of that check-in is, there have been no new entries to the Metroid or Kirby series since we last visited. Metroid still has a major one coming, and considering Pokemon will likely take more than a year, simply by its very nature, I'm sure it will be out when we swing back around. Until then, let's do our character sheets!

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: ECHOES OF WISDOM

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is the newest game in the Legend of Zelda series, and is actually the first official mainline game to feature Zelda as the main protagonist instead of Link. The plot picks up at the end of a standard Legend of Zelda plot, with Link coming to Zelda's rescue and slaying Ganon, only for Ganon to stab the ground and cause a strange rift to appear, dragging Link down into it. Now Zelda must act on her own to find Link and put a stop to the rifts spreading all across Hyrule.

Zelda is our protagonist, accompanied by a little Triforce fairy creature called Tri, who gives her the Tri Rod, which grants her most of her abilities for the game. Specifically, most of Zelda's moveset is built around creating echoes, replicas of various items Zelda encounters around her world. This includes summoning enemies to fight for her and creating objects that she can use as stepping stools to get around. Some of the most common include the flying block enemy that now functions as a floating platform to let Zelda cross large distances quickly, and the bombfish, her go-to bomb item. She can also use a bind move to grab objects and pull them toward her, and a reverse bond that lets her be pulled by moving objects.

Link appears in the game, both playable in the beginning level and then later as a damsel-in-distress type or an ally, and Zelda can even mimic his abilities at certain points, using his sword and arrows. Other notable allies include Zelda's father, the King of Hyrule, as well as his right and left hand advisors, General Wright and Minister Lefte. There's also Impa, and the inventor Lueberry who upgrades Link's weapons. Then there's the Great Fairy, the goddesses Din, Nayru, and Farore, the Great Deku Tree, a Stamp Guy who functions similar to Tingle with a stamp-collecting sidequest, a master named Shisho that puts you through boss rushes, and finally Dampe, who is now an inventor this time around, and builds automatons based on enemies that you can use to fight. (Guess who earned himself a spot).

As you travel around Hyrule, you'll encounter other races like Gorons and Zoras with specific members who will help you get to the temples and figure out how to heal the rifts. They're not quite sages, and the level of their help varies, so I'm not totally certain on including them, but here they are anyway. For the Gerudo, your main companion is Dohna, the daughter of the chief Seera. For the Zoras, we have two factions (the river and sea Zoras respectively), led by Dradd and Kushara, as well as their two advisors Inawa and Rogma. Darston is the new young chief of the Gorons, and he is the most companion-y in the game. For the Deku Scrubs, Blossu is the most helpful, but only really a little. And then, when you climb Hebra Mountain, you meet a lonely yeti named Conde, whose brother went off on an adventure. I'm going to look back at my history with all these races and make a decision on them. They might be echoes or something.

Ganon starts out as your main villain, fighting you twice with his trident, but then he turns out to simply be an echo of Ganon and the true villain appears. This is Null, the embodiment of the void and nothingness that existed at the start of the universe. The three goddesses created the land of Hyrule and everything on it in order to seal it away, leaving the Triforce and the Tri fairies behind as a means to stop it if it ever broke through. Null is able to create echoes of its various bosses, create rifts in the world, slash with its claws, and blast balls of dark energy around. It can also make its arms grow from anywhere.

Other bosses include the Seismic Talus, who can launch its fists and slam the ground to make earthquakes; Vocavor, a large fish that creates whirlpools and can fly; Mogryph, a winged mole that can fly, burrow, throw sand waves, roar, charge, and summon tornadoes; Volvagia, who flies around, dives into lava, and spits both a large green energy ball and a laser beam; Gohma, who releases Gohma eggs and shoots an eye laser; and Skorchill, a mad yeti that could use ice and fire attacks, and jump really high.

Mini-bosses include dark versions of Link and Zelda, a cloud named Smog, Lord Jabu-Jabu, and various large enemies. Most of the enemies can be included in Zelda/Tri's moveset, and they are: Zols, Buzz Blobs, Moblins, Boarblins (not sure on the difference), Lynels, Lizalfos, Darknuts, Armos, Ball-and-chain Troopers, Gibdoes, ReDeads, Wizzrobes, little armadillos called Caromadillos, Ropes, tornado frogs called Tornandoes, singing frogs called Ribbitunes, Slugs, moles called Holmills, Wolfos, Keese, Mothulas, Needleflies, various birds like Crows and Guays, Octoroks, Sand Crabs, Biris, fish called Tanglers, Bombfish, sharks called Chompfins, Deku Babas, Peahats, Zirros, Moldorms, Crawltulas, Arurodas, Tektites, Poes, blobs of slime called Goo Spectres, Ghinis, Leevers, mini-Taluses called Tweeluses, Freezards, Sparks, living platforms called Platbooms, and Beamos.

As for stages, we have Hyrule Castle, Hyrule Field, Suthorn Forest, Gerudo Desert, Lake Hylia, Jabul Waters, Eldin Volcano, Faron Wetlands, Kakariko Village, Hebra Mountain, Eternal Forest, and the Still World where Null resides.

Super Mario Party Jamboree

SUPER MARIO PARTY JAMBOREE

Welcome back to the Mario franchise. Today, we only have one to go over. Technically, Mario & Luigi Brothership has also come out at the time of writing this, but that was only three days ago, and not nearly enough time to watch a walkthrough of it. I'm going to run through the other games that have come out in the meantime, then give it a week of space. If nothing comes out on the following Monday, then just assume it's going to be saved for post-Pokemon. We'll see how it goes.

As for Super Mario Party Jamboree, it's the newest game in the Mario Party franchise. Kamek is the host, and the game is a pretty standard entry, though with a one-player where you can run around and complete tasks and so on. Your playable characters include: Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Princess Daisy, Rosalina, Toad, Toadette, Yoshi, Birdo, Donkey Kong, Wario, Waluigi, Bowser, Bowser Jr., Goomba, Koopa Troopa, Shy Guy, Boo, Monty Mole, and Spike, with Pauline and Ninji as newcomers. Lakitu, Boom Boom, and Pom Pom all have cameos.

The stages include Goomba Lagoon, a tropical island; Rainbow Galleria, a mall; Mega Wiggler's Tree Party; a forest level with a giant Wiggler in the middle of it; Roll'em Raceway, a Mario Kart track; and King Bowser's Keep, your standard Bowser level. Western Land and Mario's Rainbow Castle also return from past games.

The game has a bunch of minigames, most of which are in the pretty standard category for Mario Party. As there's no one to give them to as a gimmick character, unless I just wanted to add boosts to Tumble, Koopa Kid, Ballyhoo, or Brighton and Twila, but I think that's not necessary.

Next up, The Legend of Link!
