POKEMON XD: GALE OF DARKNESS

Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness is a sequel to Pokemon Colosseum, set in the same region of Orre, with most of the same general locales, and most of the main supporting characters, just a few years older, except weirdly, Wes and Rui, who as far as I know, never appear in the game.

You instead play as Michael, a young boy who lives in a science lab with his mother Lily and sister Jovi. His mother is an assistant to Professor Kane, who has been developing snag machines and other devices to help capture and purify Shadow Pokemon. With Kane's tech, Michael is capable of doing most of everything Wes could, even detecting Shadow Pokemon himself without Rui's help.

Cipher returns as the main villains, this time with a Shadow Lugia under their control. Their members include Greevil, the leader; his two sons and bodyguards Ardos and Eldes, the admins Lovrina, Snattle, and Gorigan, and the thug Zook, all of whom you can battle at different points. As for your major new allies, you have Dr. Kaminko and his assistant Chobin, who regularly confuses you for a burglar and tries to fight you in a Robo Groudon mech suit. This mech suit doesn't really do much, and is mostly just cool armor for his Pokemon battles.

From there, we have such notable returning characters as Miror B, Duking, Eagun, Gonzap of Team Snagem, and the Kids Grid, who are all now adults and running a very successful news conglomerate called ONBS. As for the locations, everywhere from the original game returns, as well as Pokemon HQ Lab where Lily and Professor Kane work, Kaminko's House, Gateon Port (a port city), the S.S. Libra (a boat abducted in the game's opening and dumped in a desert), Cipher Key Lair, and Citadark Isle.
