POKEMON EMERALD

Pokemon Emerald is the third main Hoenn game for Gen III, combining most of the unique elements of Ruby and Sapphire and expanding on it a bit. Most of the plot and characters are the same, except that this time, Team Aqua and Team Magma are both full antagonists in the story (No Team Sky sadly, sorry Mikey), leading to a big showdown between both Kyogre and Groudon that requires you to summon Rayquaza in order to stop. Also, Wallace has been upgraded to the champion, Steven just stepping down, I guess, even though he still maintains a presence in the plot. Wallace's mentor Juan takes over his role in the Sootopolis Gym.

Finally, a new post game area is added, called the Battle Frontier, a "theme park" of sorts with seven unique Battle Locations, each with their own gimmick that shakes up how you battle and a Frontier Brain who acts as the "gym leader," so to speak. These include Noland in the Battle Factory, Greta in the Battle Arena, Tucker in the Battle Dome, Lucy in the Battle Pike, Spenser in the Battle Palace, Brandon in the Battle Pyramid, and Anabel in the Battle Tower. Also, there's Scott, the Battle Frontier's owner and proprietor, but you never battle him.
