Today, let's begin our last round of Yoshi games with the character updates. It will be almost all revisions this time, but it shouldn't be too many. Here we go:

We finally get to Yoshi, the star of the show! He appeared in all of the games this time around, obviously, although some definitely felt more like Mario games than Yoshi games. In Yoshi, he really just hatches from the eggs you form. In Yoshi's Cookie, he mostly appears in cutscenes playing with balls of dough. In Yoshi's Safari, Mario rides him across set tracks. In Tetris Attack, he is one of the many characters appearing along the side that you are "supposedly" playing as. Yoshi's Topsy-Turvy and Yoshi Touch & Go he plays a bit more normally, although it is more or less the general Yoshi moveset.

Here's his moveset!

Standard B: Egg Lay

Side B: Egg Shot

Up B: Helicopter

Down B: Ground Pound

Final Smash: Yoshi Herd

Entrance: He hatches from an egg.

Taunts: That cute little dance he does when he completes a level would be a pretty good one. Honestly, a lot of his cute movements and behaviors would work. The same goes for his new games. Cute is definitely a good descriptor here.

Not much to say here. Blooper is one of the enemies that falls from the sky in Yoshi, and appears in the water levels of Yoshi's Safari. That's it!

Here is the moveset:

Standard B: Ink

Side B: Surf

Up B: Inkjet

Down B: Tentacle Slap

Final Smash: Gooper Blooper

Entrance: Maybe float onto the stage, referencing how they can fly in The Lost Levels.

Taunts: Ink a little the way they do in Mario Kart. Wave a tentacle around. Float upward in the same animation from the original games.

Piranha Plant doesn't really have much to add this time. It's one of the items that falls in Yoshi, and appears here and there in Topsy-Turvy and Touch n' Go. Nothing particularly special.

Down B: Paint

Final Smash: Naval Piranha

Entrance: Pops out of a pipe.

Taunts: Chomping around the way he does. Doing the iconic up and down movement. Maybe the sleep animation.

Basically, Goombas appear as some of the falling items in Yoshi, and as Paragoombas in Yoshi's Safari. That's pretty much it.

Down B: Stack Up

Final Smash: Goomboss

Entrance: Pops out of chestnut shell.

Taunts: The little hop around and squeak from Super Mario 64 for sure.

Not much to say for Mario here. Everything he did was mostly in conjunction with the games he appeared in. He held and switched around the plates in Yoshi, pumped the lever and played with dough in Yoshi's Cookie, and shot down enemies with a Super Scope in Yoshi's Safari, none of which is inherently unique to Mario himself.

Here's his moveset:

Up B: Item Box

Down B: Mario Tornado

Final Smash: Mega Mushroom

Entrance: Pops up from a warp pipe.

Taunts: Still okay with his various Smash taunts as most of them are reflected in game.

Yoshi

YOSHI

Today, we'll be covering Yoshi. No, not that one. I mean the NES game from 1991. You know the one. The one where Mario is holding up four plates, while Goombas, Piranha Plants, Boos, Bloopers, and egg shells fall from the ceiling, and if you line up an egg bottom with an egg top, it'll make an egg from which a Yoshi will hatch, and the number of enemies you had in between the egg top and bottom determined what stage of development the Yoshi was at. That one. Remember? Maybe?

Anyhoo, here's what we've got so far:

Characters:
Mario: hold and switch around plates
Yoshi: hatch from egg

Stages:
A stage based on the game, with switching platforms and falling eggs?
