Seventopia

SEVENTOPIA

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse’s story featured a sculptor named Claycia stealing all the color from Dream Land to give it to the worlds she has constructed, named Seventopia after the seven colors of the rainbow, all connected by a rainbow.

This stage would be a horizontally scrolling stage set on the rainbow connecting Seventopia, with sections based on each world every couple of screens.

Cotta

COTTA

Much like Epic Yarn, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse was kind of its own thing, with enemies made out of clay unlike anything in the regular Kirby world. The most common of these were the Cottas, which came in multiple varieties.

As a fighter, the Cotta will be a bit heavier than it looks and fairly durable to harm. Its moveset will pull from all the various forms it takes in the game.

Likelihood rating: Never gonna happen.

Claycia

CLAYCIA

As you make your way through the game, you ultimately encounter the person responsible, a clay sculptor who created an entire world out of clay.

This is Claycia, Elline’s former friend corrupted by a being called the Dark Crafter, causing her to steal colors from all other worlds for her own.

As a fighter, she will be a bit heavier than she looks, just like Elline, to reflect their clay bodies. Her moveset will center around sculpting things out of clay and using moves from her and the Dark Crafter’s boss battles.

Likelihood rating: Probably not.

Elline

ELLINE

Another spinoff in the same vein as Canvas Curse came in the form of Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, which saw a mysterious force suck all the color out of Dream Land, leaving it frozen in time. A small color fairy appears, restoring Kirby and Waddle Dee.

This is Elline, your main companion throughout Rainbow Curse, acting as the cursor guiding Kirby as a ball throughout the Claymation courses. She turns out to be the former friend of the person responsible.

As a fighter, she will be small and floaty, but not that light, mirroring clay’s density. Her moveset will pull from all the main color and clay-based gimmicks in the game.

Likelihood rating: Piranha Plant clause.

Ball Kirby

BALL KIRBY

One of the first things Drawcia does is transform Kirby into a ball with no arms or legs.

Kirby as a ball is not a unique concept. Many games including the early spinoffs made use of the concept. This was the first to actively make it a different form from regular Kirby, so we’re placing him here.

As a fighter, Ball Kirby will most just roll, guided along by lines of rainbow light, just like in the game. His moveset will pull from Canvas Curse as well as several other ball-centered games.

Likelihood rating: Never gonna happen.

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse

KIRBY AND THE RAINBOW CURSE

Next up is something of a spiritual successor to Kirby's Canvas Curse, with Kirby stuck in ball form the entire game, guided along by the player's stylus, except this time, the game's world is entirely in claymation. The story features all of the colors of Dream Land being stolen, only for Kirby and Bandana Waddle Dee to be reawakened by a small color fairy named Elline.

Kirby is our main character, though technically the player controls Elline, who draws the lines that Kirby follows. She can also tap him to make him dash, and hold him to make him charge up and launch forward. She can also use easels to transform him into a tank, submarine, and rocket. Bandana Waddle Dee plays the player 2 character, attacking with his spear and sometimes throwing Kirby.

Claycia is the main villain and Elline's former friend. She will attack by throwing clay balls, creating enemies out of clay, crafting laser turrets, and punching with large fists. She also has her Grab Hands which occasionally stalk through the levels pursuing Kirby and his crew. She also can drain color from things. She turns out to be corrupted by a being called Dark Crafter. Dark Crafter mostly flees from Kirby while throwing bombs, but occasionally spins to get faster.

Our other bosses include Whispy Woods, who can drop bombs and gains a metal coating now; Hooplagoon, a giant round thing that shoots lasers; and the Claykken, a giant squid that attacks with tentacles and jets after you with his ink. Our returning enemies include Blado, Blipper, Bouncy, Bronto Burt, Gordo, Hothead, Sawgill, and Soarar, joining the originals Cotta (with cannons, a helmet, a drill, a mech, and spears) Barampa, Bastron, Bombzway, Bronto Knight, Bzztbulb, Carpa, Clay Ball, Crabbo, Danglesloth, Deepsee, Dethskullk, Explortle, Grindarr, Grinkey, Shieldster, Shockcreepa, Sportle, Sportetini, Thornsby, Trakker, and Warpspace.

The game takes place in Seventopia, a world created by Claycia, including the generic Green Valley, the desert Yellow Dunes, the sea Indigo Ocean, the sky Blue Sky Palace, the forest Orange Woodland, the volcanic Red Volcano, and the final world Purple Fortress.
