Kirby: Squeak Squad

KIRBY: SQUEAK SQUAD

Next up is Kirby: Squeak Squad for the Nintendo DS. A series of thefts occur across Dream Land, including Kirby's strawberry shortcake he was about to eat and a special chest stolen from King Dedede's treasury, all pulled off by a band of rats from outer space. Kirby goes on an adventure to get it all bck.

Kirby is our hero and he has all the same basics that he always has. His new copy abilities include: Animal, which lets him attack with claws and dig; Bubble, which lets him capture enemies to save for later copy abilities; Ghost, which lets him possess enemies; Metal, which coats him in metal and lets him roll or ground pound; and Triple Star, which is the Final Battle ability like so many others before. Returning abilities include Beam, Bomb (with Ice and Thunder upgrades), Cupid, Cutter, Fighter, Fire, Hammer, Hi-Jump, Ice, Laser, Magic (now upgraded with doves, cards, and a jack-in-the box attack), Ninja, Parasol, Sleep, Spark, Sword (with a fire, ice, and thunder upgrade), Throw, Tornado, UFO, and Wheel.

King Dedede and Meta Knight both make appearances in this game, likewise being robbed by the Squeaks and trying to get the chest back from them. King Dedede can do a lot of his basics, like floating, inhaling, using his hammer, and body slamming, while Meta Knight uses a lot of his same basic sword-based attacks, alongside a new whirlwind attack, an electric field, and the ability to shoot fire blasts.

The Squeaks are our main villains, with Daroach as the crew's leader, who can teleport, drop bombs, shoot an ice beam, and throw starts from his Triple Star Cane. The rest of his crew includes Spinni, the fast one who attacks with claws and ninja stars; Storo, the big one who body slams and wields a hammer; and Doc, who flies in a UFO that can shoot lasers and drop bombs. Squeakers are the small cronies of the crew, and can throw bombs. In the end, we discover that the chest the Squeaks stole contained Dark Nebula, a powerful entity sealed away long again. Dark Nebula can take on a fire, ice, and electric form. In fire form, it can drop a gigantic fireball from above, while ice form can shoot a freezing beam and freeze on contact, and electric form shoots four bolts at the screen's corners to electrify the stage borders.

Other bosses include Mrs. Moley, the wife of Moley from before, except now she can leap out and try to body slam Kirby. Then we have Mecha-Kracko, a clone of Kracko built by Doc, with most of the same basic attacks like lightning and laser beams. Then we have Yadogaine, another machine operated by Doc, with claws that dig up rocks to toss and a mouth laser. Then we have Bohboh, a flaming owl that drops fireballs and tries to grab with his talons.

Our mini-bosses include Big Metalun, who rolls to ram into things; Bonkers, still standard; Box Boxer, the same as before; Boxy, the same as before; Buboo, a crab covered in bubbles that it uses as projectiles; Gao Gao, a large mole that spins with its claws, spins into the air, and drills underground; Mr. Frosty, about the same; and Tedhaun, a ghost that attacks with mini-versions of itself. Our non-copy ability enemies include the returning Waddle Dee, Blipper, Blockin, Bronto Burt, Chip, Glunk, Gordo, Scarfy, and Snooter, as well as the newcomers Batty, Cret, Crimp, Gussa, Maiga, Perara, and Uja.

Our stages include the generic starter Prism Plains, the underground Nature Notch, the sky level Cushy Cloud, the jungle level Jam Jungle, the volcanic area Vocal Volcano, the icy area Ice Island, the beach level Secret Sea, and the space level Gamble Galaxy.
