Wario Ware: Move It!

WARIO WARE: MOVE IT!

Wario Ware just dropped a new game, in the middle of quite a few releases all probably part of the preparations for the 2023 holiday season. This time, the games take full advantage of the motion controls attached to the joycons, as opposed to Get It Together's gimmick of having the characters be playable cursors. This game features Wario winning an island vacation for him and nineteen friends, naturally meaning his developers tagged along.

The developers included Mona, Lulu, Doctor Crygor, Penny Crygor, Mike, Orbulon, Ashley, Red, Kat, Ana, Young Cricket, Master Mantis, Jimmy T., Dribble, Spitz, 9-Volt, 18-Volt, 5-Volt, and 13-Amp. Each one was taught special techniques using the "form stones" (joycons) for their minigames, which functionally just meant holding the controllers in specific ways. Outside of those, Mona went scuba diving to meet a mermaid and ended up saving Lulu from getting eaten by a fish. Dr. Crygor, Penny, and Mike traveled back in time with Crygor's "time obliterator" and inspired a caveman to draw cave paintings.

Orbulon lost his memory and got worshipped as a god for a while, while Ashley built sandcastles and Red got shrunk, requiring Ashley to try to grow him back to normal with magic, but not quite getting the spell right a few times. Kat and Ana's rival Leo returned from Get It Together, this time stealing their food and running off into the jungle only to get eaten by Cractus, a returning Wario Land 4 boss. Young Cricket and Master Mantis faced off against a pack of musclebound penguins who challenged them to a battle, only for the leader to be revealed to be Cicada, Young Cricket's partner from Rhythm Heaven Fever, crossing over to the Wario Ware series to join in the fun.

Jimmy T. went surfing, just chill as always. Dribble and Spitz now have a floating taxi boat that they accidentally got involved in a boat race, and 9-Volt, 18-Volt, 5-Volt, and 13-Amp all got roped into what seemed to be a haunted house but turned out to be a video game arcade.

The whole game takes place on Caresaway Island, with some notable locations including a volcano that became cursed and a tour boat and tour bus that acted as the big remix levels after you'd worked through the character sets.

Anyway, here's what we've got for possible new stuff:

Characters:

13-Amp: possible echo/semi-clone for 18-Volt. He doesn't have one, so . . .

Leo: dash, claws, animal control, Cractus (should revisit his scenes from GIT)

Cicada: belly slide, palm thrust, leap away, Rhythm Heaven stuff

Stages:

Caresaway Island

Bosses:

Cractus

Thanks for reading! Next up, 13-Amp drops the beat! (Hey, I like that. I should start doing Splash Banner style intros from now on)
