Yeta/Yeto

YETA/YETO

Upon clearing Hyrule of its invading Twilight, Link and Midna make their way to the Mirror Chamber, the only true gateway between their two worlds, only to find that the mirror has been broken into pieces by Zant. They head out again to find the scattered pieces, heading first to a place called Snowpeak, where they encounter a pair of yetis.

These are Yeto and Yeta, largely friendly snow monsters who live together in an old frozen palace, happy and in love. At least, that was until a piece of the Mirror of Twilight landed in their home and slowly started twisting Yeta’s mind to evil, turning her into the final boss of the dungeon.

As fighters, Yeto and Yeta will be color swaps of each other, Yeto being the more active initially, but Yeta bringing a lot to their moveset with her boss battle. They will both be strong and durable, able to survive the harsh conditions of the place they call home.

Likelihood rating: Probably not.

As you travel throughout the world of Twilight Princess, your quest eventually takes you up into the icy northern mountains where you encounter a big friendly Yeti living in some ruins with his wife, who has fallen mysteriously ill. You soon discover that a shard of the Mirror of Twilight ended up in their ruins and had twisted the wife's mind with its influence, leading to an intense boss battle against her.

Yeto/Yeta: punch, sled, cannons, stew, rise, icy wind, ice chunks

Though not enough for each individually, between the two of them they have plenty, with each acting as even and odd color swaps. I'm not sure which one goes first, as Yeto is the first you meet and is initially presented as the more prominent of the two, while Yeta is the big boss fight. I prefer Yeta, but it could go either way. Their moves include a mighty punch, sledding down an icy slope, cannons that break ice around their home, a stew Yeto was making to help Yeta get better, freezing winds, ice chunks falling from the ceiling, and a general rising into the air in the middle of battle.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Side B: Frozen Punch

The Yeti in question will rev up their fist and punch hard, just as Yeto does when he first meets Link.

Side B: Ice Cannon

The ice cannons seen around their home will pop up in front of them, allowing them to shoot off a powerful blast of ice and freeze the target.

Up B: Icy Winds

The Yeti in question will spin like Yeta does and lift into the air, creating a vortex of freezing winds around themselves to freeze anyone too close for a second.

Down B: Stew

They will drink a draft of warming stew to warm them up for a while. This makes them temporarily immune to any other freezing attacks.

Final Smash: Abominable Blizzard

Basically a recreation of Yeta's boss battle, the Yeti in question will put on Yeta's scary face before rising into the air covered in ice, while massive icicles form and drop onto the stage from above.

Entrance: They will slide in on Yeto's sled.

Taunts: Up, the Yeti will spin into the air for a second. Side, their partner will come out, and Yeto will cradle Yeta in his arms, hearts appearing all around them. Down, they will stir a pot of stew for a second.

Thanks for reading! Tomorrow, the Groose is loose!
