In Kirby’s Dream Land 2, the games introduced a new gimmick: a trio of animal buddies who would help Kirby by carting him around the stage in various ways.

The first of these was a hamster named Rick. He would carry Kirby on his head, and together, they’d pull off a number of combo attacks using Rick’s strong body and Kirby’s copy abilities.

As a fighter, Rick would be strong and tanky, with a good bit of speed. His moveset would pull from the various combos he and Kirby could perform together.
