MARIO'S EARLY YEARS
Today, let's cover the Mario's Early Years series, three-ish games made for schools to use as learning aids. These include Fun with Letters!, Fun with Numbers!, and Preschool Fun. There's also CD-ROM Collection, but that's just the previous three put together. They all star the Mario characters but they're all mostly just about teaching principles of beginner's language arts, mathematics, and other random stuff.
Fun with Letters! teaches what sounds letters make, teaches vowels and consonants, helps demonstrate how to construct sentences, tells stories, and other things anyone who's been through an American English class will be familiar with. Fun with Numbers does similar, teaching numbers and shapes and other staples of an early math class. Preschool Fun does a lot of random stuff, teaching numbers and shapes, but also colors and opposites and the human body and stuff.
That's about it! Here's what we've got so far:
Characters:
Mario/Jumpman: jump, klaptrap, cement, box a cake, bomb, juggling, hockey, trampoline, diving, bucket, rowboat, spray
