MARIO IS MISSING & MARIO'S TIME MACHINE
Mario is Missing & Mario's Time Machine are two "educational" games for the MS-DOS and two of the most notoriously bad Mario games ever made (and, yeah, they pretty much are). Their gameplay practically consists of little more than the player (Luigi in the first, and Yoshi in the second), moving side to side and activating text boxes here and there.
The games' primary purpose is to teach Geography and History respectively. In the first, Bowser has stolen a bunch of famous real-world landmarks in order to pay for a machine to melt Antarctica (don't ask), and Mario is captured in the attempt to stop him. This leaves Luigi and Yoshi to travel around the world and figure out what was stolen in order to stop Bowser. The locations you can visit in-game include Rome, Beijing, Nairobi, Moscow, San Francisco, Athens, Buenos Aires, Sydney, Paris, New York City, Tokyo, Cairo, London, and many others depending on which version of the game you played.
Mario's Time Machine is more or less the same, except this time with Bowser using a time machine to steal precious artifacts from history to add to his collection, with Mario having to use the machine himself to stop him. These locations include Philadelphia 1776 (Declaration of Independence), Cambridge 1687 (Isaac Newton, apple thing), Vienna 1824 (Beethoven), Orleans 1429 (Joan of Arc), Florence 1505 (Leonardo da Vinci), Calcutta 1947 (Gandhi), Menlo Park 1879 (Thomas Edison), London 1595 (Queen Elizabeth), Gobi Desert 1292 (Marco Polo), Athens 369 (Plato), Alexandria 47 (Cleopatra), Mainz 1455 (Gutenberg Press), Stratford-upon-Avon 1601 (Shakespeare), Pacific Ocean 1521 (Magellan), Florence 1503 (Michelangelo), and many others, again depending on the version you played.
