Character Sheet: Ace & Clay

 ACE & CLAY

Now, we have two new characters to cover from the Tennis games, both being gimmick reps for the tennis gameplay, but also echo fighters of one another. The first represents the first RPG mode for the GBC game, the second represents the RPG mode for the Advanced game. Technically speaking, they could be merged into one character, and if you prefer to think of them that way, this is fine, but this is the way it made sense to me. They are:

1. Alex & Nina

2. Ace & Clay

This is a character slot for the main characters of the second handheld Tennis RPG, who are students of the same school a few years later, with Alex and Nina often referenced as famous former students and making cameos toward the end to congratulate the new protagonists on their success. They could be mixed into one, but I personally like having them separate. This game didn't carry on the protagonists each having a doubles partner of the same sex as the previous game, and the two simply act as each other's doubles partners. So, we'd have four with Ace as the main player, and four with Clay as the main player. If you're wondering why Ace's name is in the lead this time, while Alex's was in the lead last time, it's mostly just to shake it up. Outside of that, there's really not much left to say, so let's go!

Here's their moveset:

Standard B: Serve or Counter

More or less the same. The stats would probably be adjusted slightly though.

Side B: Chance Shot or Chance Defense

Most likely would have slightly different chance possibilities than their counterpart.

Up B: Special Shot or Special Defense

As said in the previous one, they can represent a different special move than their counterpart.

Down B: Singles or Doubles

Same basic principle.

Final Smash: Lucien

This one is the only main difference in terms of moveset. I figure, since Lucien didn't quite make it as a full character, it makes sense that he then be part of one of the tennis rep's movesets. Lucien's racket will appear. The character, or both (depending), will take a hold of the racket, transform into the steely possessed form Lucien causes, and then his terrible dark storm will whip up, blowing characters off the stage.

Entrance: The player will come onto the stage doing warmups.

Taunts: Up, the player will bounce the ball up and down on their racquet. Side, the two partners will stand side by side and high five each other. Down, the character will bounce the ball against the ground and catch it.

Thanks for reading! Now, let's revise our roster real quick.
