Character Sheet: Mario (New Series)

MARIO

Settle in, folks, we've got a lot of revisions to get through for this one. The "New" series featured most of the series favorites, almost all of which have been included here already and most of them brought at least something new to the table. In fact, we only have four new characters to include this time. They are:

1. Mario (Revision 4)
2. Luigi (Revision 3)
3. Koopa Troopa (Revision 3)
3e. Dry Bones (Revision 2)
4. Goomba (Revision 3)
5. Piranha Plant (Revision 3)
6. Boo (Revision 3)
8. Princess Peach (Revision 2)
9. Toad (Revision 2)
10. Yoshi (Revision 2)
11. Bowser (Revision 2)
13. Lakitu & Spinies (Revision 2)
14. Hammer Bro (Revision 2)
15. Chargin' Chuck (Revision 2)
16. Kamek (Name change, Revision 2)
20. The Koopalings (Revision 1)
22. Boom Boom (Revision 1)
25. Rosalina & Luma (Revision 1)
27. Bowser Jr. (Revision 1)
30. Blooper (Revision 1)
31. Monty Mole (Revision 1)
33. Petey Piranha (Revision 1)
11e. Dry Bowser
22e. Pom Pom
39. Fursuit Mario
40. Sprixie Princess

Mario's presence in this series was more or less the same as it has always been: he is the main playable character, and he functions the way a Mario game would, though each brought with it a few new power-ups. Of course, he has his fireballs and invincibility, but he also gained the ability to get super-tiny or gigantic (ahem, Final Smash *cough cough*), an ice flower to go alongside his fire flower, a blue Koopa shell to wear, a penguin suit, a propeller hat, a gold form, boomerangs, a double cherry that makes copies of himself, and a few blocks to wear on his head that perform various abilities. While some of these can certainly be shared with Luigi and the Toads, some can certainly add to Mario himself and I think I can make it all work. Here we go!

I think I've got a pretty solid moveset established now:

Standard B: Fireball
Duh!

Side B: Cape
You know what? Now that all fursuit abilities are going to be their own thing, let's get that cape back in there. He will do a flick with it, but it will function far more similarly to its appearance in Super Mario World, where he spins it and it can reflect in both directions.

Up B: Item Box
I'm going to combine his Super Jump Punch here with the Power-up move that's been floating around in here so far, since that's where he gets items from anyway. He will perform his super jump punch but will hit an item box at the top of it from which will spawn one of five items. They are:
The Metal Cap: which will make him stronger and heavier.
The Mini Mushroom: which will make him tiny.
The Gold Flower: which will cause all connecting attacks to spawn coins.
The Super Mushroom: which will just make him bigger.
The Starman: which will make him invincible to damage.
All of these are for a limited time only and do not affect his moveset and only affect his own stats.

Down B: Mario Tornado
I guess we can keep this one. It doesn't sit quite right, since the cape has a spin to it as well, but who knows what the future holds.

Final Smash: Mega Mushroom
Mario will eat a Mega Mushroom, which will blow him up to gigantic proportions and let him tromp around the stage with reckless abandon for a limited time.

Entrance: Pops up from a warp pipe.

Taunts: Still okay with his various Smash taunts as most of them are reflected in game.

Next up, it'sa Luigi time!
