ALL MARIO COLLECTIONS
Across the Mario series, there have been a number of collections released, grouping various games together and re-releasing them as a set. As far as my own count, there are ten in total. First up, and probably the most famous, is Super Mario All-Stars, a remastered collection of Super Mario Bros., The Lost Levels, Super Mario Bros. 2, and Super Mario Bros. 3. This was shortly followed by Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World, the same game just with Super Mario World added in. A special limited edition version was released many years later.
In the same naming scheme, at least, we also saw Super Mario 3D All-Stars less than a year ago, featuring Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy. Super Mario Bros. Deluxe is also a somewhat spiritual sibling of these, being a combination of the original game and Lost Levels. Donkey Kong Classics is also similar, being a combo of Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Jr.
A frequent type we often see is a collection of puzzle games. For instance, Tetris & Dr. Mario was a combo of both titular games, Nintendo Puzzle Collection combined Dr. Mario and Yoshi's Cookie with Panel de Pon, and Dr. Mario & Puzzle League was likewise a combo of the two titular games. Last but not least, on our list of collections was the Famicom Mini or NES Classic series, a series of special edition games from the Famicom and NES era released in collectors' sets including, from the Mario series at least, Donkey Kong, Mario Bros., Wrecking Crew, Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2, and Dr. Mario.
