SUPER MARIO ADVANCE SERIES
Probably some of the most notable remakes in the Mario series library, I have grouped them all together mainly because, for the most part, they don't vary that much from the original games, just with updated graphics, a few bugs and errors fixed, and a couple of bits of new content.
Super Mario Advance is the first, and is a remake of Super Mario Bros. 2. Changes include a new intro sequence, several characters recolored, Princess Toadstool named Peach now, and a giant robotic version of Birdo added as a boss (definite final Smash fodder).
Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World is a remake of Super Mario World with the same graphics and sprites as Super Mario Advance. Changes here include Luigi now being a selectable character from the start and being able to jump higher than Mario, a new opening cutscene, and Yoshi eggs containing different items based on the colors (Green: Mushroom, Yellow: Star, Red: Fire Flower, Blue: Cape Feather).
Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island is a remake of Super Mario World 2. Six extra levels are the biggest additions, and giant eggs are removed.
Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3 is a remake of Super Mario Bros. 3, with new cutscenes at the beginning and toward the end if you beat Bowser before the Koopalings, as well as new world maps added for each world.
