PAPER MARIO: THE THOUSAND-YEAR DOOR
Now, for the Switch remake of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Obviously, there's not a whole lot to improve on, but there were slight changes here and there. We have a concept art gallery and a sound gallery, a notes tab, a couple of new NPCs appear, Prince Mush can now actually be fought in the Glitz Pit, we have a couple new trophies and badges, some quality-of-life changes to the gameplay, a couple of new warp pipes, cutscenes you've seen before can be skipped now, some of the minigames have been changed in the Pianta Parlor, a couple random changes occur in the various game locales, some dialogue has been altered across different languages, and different visual effects have been updated with more modern looks. Most notably, all confusion around Vivian's gender identity that arose from differences in localization have been removed (at least in the English version and several others), confirming her as a transgender girl in all of those versions.
And that's pretty much it. Here's what we've got so far:
Characters:
Princess Peach/Stella/Radiant Peach & Stella: Stella attack, Swordfighter, Detective, Patissiere, Kung Fu, Ninja, Cowgirl, Figure Skater, Dashing Thief, Mermaid, Mighty, Radiant
Theets/Probably Sparklas: echo of the above.
Grape: dark magic, minions barrier, pyrotechnics, presents, train, Grape the Great
Sour Bunch: various implements, steal, batwings, higher ranks
Bosses:
Disco Wing
Light Fang
Purrjector Cat
Spotlion
Stages:
Sparkle Theater
Thanks for reading! Next up, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon joins its predecessor in getting an updated version.
