Rabbid Cranky

RABBID CRANKY

In the DLC pack "Donkey Kong Adventure" for the first game, Rabbid Peach teams up with Donkey Kong and a Rabbid version of DK's grandfather.

This is Rabbid Cranky, who generally embodies all the stereotypes of an ornery old man, even using a motorized scooter to get around. He accompanies you throughout this DLC adventure but has yet to appear again.

As a fighter, Rabbid Cranky will pull his moveset from the game, his stats being similar to those here, being a bit slower with more limited movement.

Likelihood rating: Never gonna happen.

Rabbid Yoshi

RABBID YOSHI

Late in the game, the party encounters a Rabbid wearing a Yoshi onesie.

This is Rabbid Yoshi, your final party member of the game. He accompanies you throughout the first adventure, but is sadly absent from the sequel or any DLC.

As a fighter, Rabbid Yoshi will pull from his moveset in-game, his stats mirroring his stats there.

Likelihood rating: Never gonna happen.

Rabbid Luigi

RABBID LUIGI

Accompanying Rabbid Peach from the very start is another wearing clothes like Luigi.

This is Rabbid Luigi, not to be confused with a certain YouTuber I watch. He is more of a cartoon parody of Luigi, being very wimpy and timid. He is playable throughout both main games.

As a fighter, his moveset will pull from his moves in Mario + Rabbids, his stats being similar to his stats there.

Likelihood rating: Probably not.

Rabbid Peach

RABBID PEACH

Right at the start of the game, Mario teams up with a pair of Rabbids combined with objects belonging to his friends.

The first of these is Rabbid Peach, who is clearly a favorite of the developers, as she is the only character to recur in both games and all DLC packs throughout the years, and even features in most of their marketing. She is vain and flighty, often taking selfies and falling in love with various characters. Basically a "valley girl" stereotype.

As a fighter, her stats will be similar in nature to those in the Mario + Rabbids series, her moves pulling from the moves she has there.

Likelihood rating: Could happen?

Stella

STELLA

After the theater is overrun, Princess Peach encounters a small star spirit looking for help.

This is Stella, Peach's main companion in the game, who supplies most of her moves, acts as a tutorial guide, and fights alongside her.

As a fighter, Stella will be light and floaty, with a bit more power than you might expect. Her moveset will pull from all the different costumed abilities, as well as every other ability she supplies in the game.

Likelihood rating: Piranha Plant clause.

The Sour Bunch

THE SOUR BUNCH

Working under Grape are a number of small minions made of grapes.

These are the sour bunch, and they take up the roles of the bad guys and henchmen throughout all the plays they take over, forcing Peach to fight her way through them.

As fighters, they will be small and quick, with a lot of underhanded moves. Their moveset will pull from their various actions across the game.

Likelihood rating: Probably not.

Grape

GRAPE

Just as Peach's night at the theater gets underway, disaster strikes as a mysterious villain in a mask emerges from a portal.

This is Grape, a diva who wants to steal the spotlight all for herself, and abducts the theater's Sparklas, placing herself and her minions in the new leading roles. She acts as the main villain of the game.

As a fighter, she will be floaty and powerful, using magical attacks based on her main boss fight and her other actions throughout the game.

Likelihood rating: Could happen.

Sparkla

SPARKLA

In 2024, Princess Peach got a new game for her to star in, Princess Peach: Showtime! This game begins with Peach attending a play at the Sparkle Theater, run by a race of small green olive creatures.

These are the Theets. Among them, the lead players of each play are called Sparklas. It is their power that Peach pulls her various costumes and abilities from, and they will act as the "damsels" Peach needs to save in the end.

As fighters, the main Sparklas will all act as the main color swaps. They will be small and fast, with their moveset pulling from all the various abilities seen in the game.

Likelihood rating: Probably not.

Second Chance Smash: The Other Rabbids

THE OTHER RABBIDS

So, I got another Second Chance request, this time arguing that, by this point in the series, all of the playable Rabbids in the Mario + Rabbids series are differentiated enough in their playstyles to warrant their own movesets. So, after doing a thorough examination of the individual weapons and abilities used by Rabbid Mario, Rabbid Luigi, Rabbid Peach, Rabbid Yoshi, and Rabbid Cranky, I have determined that assertion to be correct. So, my answer is:

YES

Next, I will do the Character Sheet, unless I get another request. If there are any for Zelda or Metroid as well, please comment them as well.

Second Chance Smash: Raphael Raven

 SECOND CHANCE SMASH

Alright, before we get to the movesets, I got a Second Chance request for Raphael Raven, the boss from Yoshi's Island. At first I was tempted to just be like "He just kinda walks around and does a little stomp, there's not much to work with here," but I should do my due diligence, so . . .

Now, yes, in the first game, that is really all Raphael does. He waddles around and does a stomp that sends sparks out. That's really it. However, I will say, that he is in Tetris Attack, which did lend a bit to Wiggler's moveset, so why not here? And then there's Paper Mario, where he and his Ravens are shown to fly with their feet, and do build a contraption to take you up the volcano.

Hmm, I guess I'll say . . .

YES

Well, there we go! Tomorrow, I'll do the character sheets. Oh, and I might as well put it out there now, no Zelda or Metroid games have come out since last visited (announced, yes. Released, no), and I don't have anyone in mind who needs a Second Chance for either, so here's your shot to suggest anyone.

Luigi's Mansion 2 HD

LUIGI'S MANSION 2 HD

Next up, we have our final remake for this revisit of the Mario series. There's really no second chance to do this time, so we'll be moving on to the characters next. But for now, the major changes include some quality-of-life changes, some changes due to overall Nintendo changes (like being incompatible with Miiverse now), one random Boo changed its name, and most of the characters have updated models.

That's really about it. Here's what we've got so far:

Characters:

Princess Peach/Stella/Radiant Peach & Stella: Stella attack, Swordfighter, Detective, Patissiere, Kung Fu, Ninja, Cowgirl, Figure Skater, Dashing Thief, Mermaid, Mighty, Radiant

Theets/Probably Sparklas: echo of the above.

Grape: dark magic, minions barrier, pyrotechnics, presents, train, Grape the Great

Sour Bunch: various implements, steal, batwings, higher ranks

Bosses:

Disco Wing

Light Fang

Purrjector Cat

Spotlion

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door

PAPER MARIO: THE THOUSAND-YEAR DOOR

Now, for the Switch remake of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Obviously, there's not a whole lot to improve on, but there were slight changes here and there. We have a concept art gallery and a sound gallery, a notes tab, a couple of new NPCs appear, Prince Mush can now actually be fought in the Glitz Pit, we have a couple new trophies and badges, some quality-of-life changes to the gameplay, a couple of new warp pipes, cutscenes you've seen before can be skipped now, some of the minigames have been changed in the Pianta Parlor, a couple random changes occur in the various game locales, some dialogue has been altered across different languages, and different visual effects have been updated with more modern looks. Most notably, all confusion around Vivian's gender identity that arose from differences in localization have been removed (at least in the English version and several others), confirming her as a transgender girl in all of those versions.

And that's pretty much it. Here's what we've got so far:

Characters:

Princess Peach/Stella/Radiant Peach & Stella: Stella attack, Swordfighter, Detective, Patissiere, Kung Fu, Ninja, Cowgirl, Figure Skater, Dashing Thief, Mermaid, Mighty, Radiant

Theets/Probably Sparklas: echo of the above.

Grape: dark magic, minions barrier, pyrotechnics, presents, train, Grape the Great

Mario vs. Donkey Kong

MARIO VS. DONKEY KONG

Mario vs. Donkey Kong is a fully 3D remake of the original Mario vs. Donkey Kong, will full modern graphics and released for the switch. It's mostly the same game, but with a lot of updates and changes. For instance, we now have a Casual Style with no time limits and a lot of changes allowing for a more relaxed style of play. A Time Attack mode has also been added, as well as multiplayer with Toad acting as Player 2. The biggest change comes with the two new worlds: Merry Mini-Land (an amusement park style area) and Slippery Summit (a snow region), mixed in with the other worlds. There's also new plus and expert levels added in for the hardcore players. Outside of that, a lot of quality of life changes have occurred, or random small details here and there. A handful of enemies have been altered to be more in line with modern Mario, like the Tane Pakkun now being mechanical Fire Piranha Plants and so on.

That's really about it. Here's what we've got so far:

Characters:

Princess Peach/Stella/Radiant Peach & Stella: Stella attack, Swordfighter, Detective, Patissiere, Kung Fu, Ninja, Cowgirl, Figure Skater, Dashing Thief, Mermaid, Mighty, Radiant

Theets/Probably Sparklas: echo of the above.

Grape: dark magic, minions barrier, pyrotechnics, presents, train, Grape the Great

Princess Peach: Showtime!

PRINCESS PEACH: SHOWTIME!

Welcome back to our next revisit of the Mario series, covering all new games that have released since. First up is the only original game, Princess Peach: Showtime! This is the first game since Super Princess Peach to star the princess. It features her and a few Toads visiting the Sparkle Theater to watch a show, only for the theater to be overrun by a new villain named Grape and her Sour Bunch.

Obviously Princess Peach is our protagonist this time around, with a little star creature named Stella following her around and acting as her tutorial/navigator-type character. Stella might work as the general gimmick rep, though I do imagine Peach would gain at least a couple of moves from this. We'll see. When in her normal form, she can run and jump, and has a basic attack move where Stella swirls around her body, attacking or causing various effects to happen.

More importantly though, the main gimmick of the game is Peach putting on various costumes that give her new abilities. I had a bit of trepidation going in, wondering if I was going to end up having to make a bunch of new Peach movesets, but fortunately, most come with only a couple of moves each, so it's easier to just make a combined moveset. These include Swordfighter Peach (with a flurry of slashes and an upward slash), Detective Peach (with a magnifying glass and a "strike of intuition"), Patissiere Peach (with the ability to make cookies and lay down a line of frosting), Kung Fu Peach (with kicks and jumps), Ninja Peach (who can wall jump, throw kunai, and hide), Cowgirl Peach (with a lasso and a horse), Figure Skater Peach (who skates and can spin and jump), Dashing Thief Peach (with a grappling hook and a glider), Mermaid Peach (who can swim and sing), Mighty Peach (with superhuman strength, lasers, and a jetpack), and Radiant Peach, the super form for the final battle with Grape.

Outside of Peach and Stella, most of the side cast is the Theets, a new race of little olive-looking people, who run most of the shops and act as the NPCs in the various plays Peach enters, sometimes floating on balloons and such. Most importantly are the Sparklas, the actors who were supposed to play the roles Peach takes up, and thus can do all of that stuff too. A handful of Toads are around as well.

On the villains' side of thing, we have Grape, a diva who tries to take over all the shows and make herself the star. She uses all manner of dark magic and theater implements in her fights, including making minions guard her, causing pyrotechnics to go off under Peach, and presents to drop from above. She also has a giant mask form called Grape the Great.

She has four bosses serving under her, all monsters made out of theater trappings. These include Disco Wing, a bird made out of a disco ball, who flies, lays disco ball eggs and blocks, and rolls around; Light Fang, a snake made of lights that fights Peach on one of those tower-maze boss fights like from Captain Toad's game; Purrjector Cat, a cat made from projectors, who attacks with his claws through the shadows and has mice bombs running around; and Spotlion, a lion that shoots orbs of light and a laser beam from its spotlight head.

From there we have the Sour Bunch, the main forces of Grape's gang, who generally play the "bad guys" in any given play. While they don't do much (this game is pretty easy over all), they are generally equipped with swords and things related to the given chapters, and often have batwings to fly with. They also tend to steal a lot. Certain chapters will also have higher ranked members acting as the "main villain" of said story. These include a cowboy, phantom knight, dark swordfighter, figure skater, dark baker, kung fu master, a giant plant, and a UFO.

As for the stages, really just "Sparkle Theater" will do us just fine, as any stage I can imagine would have the background and stage props shift around between the different themes.

And that's about it! Here's what we've got so far:

Characters:

Princess Peach/Stella/Radiant Peach & Stella: Stella attack, Swordfighter, Detective, Patissiere, Kung Fu, Ninja, Cowgirl, Figure Skater, Dashing Thief, Mermaid, Mighty, Radiant

Theets/Probably Sparklas: echo of the above.

Sour Bunch: various implements, steal, batwings, higher ranks

Kirby All-Stars Adventure Mode

 KIRBY ALL-STARS ADVENTURE MODE

Both Kirbys and their friends from both the game and non-game universes step through the portals that just opened up to be greeted by "The Game Master," a happy friendly character who challenges them all to a series of games (a general mix of all the various Kirby subgames and spinoff games) in a big tournament to determine the ultimate champion of the universe.

In the end, whoever wins the tournament (your player character) hops up to the stage to accept their trophy, only for a bunch of mechanical arms to grab the player and start to drain them of their power. "The Game Master" throws off their disguise to reveal that they are EnEmEe, weakened and trapped in his pocket universe after his climactic battle with Kirby, who set up this whole tournament to determine the most powerful warrior in the universe and steal their power, so that he could return and take control of Nightmare Enterprises once again.

After a long battle with everyone fighting together against EnEmEe, he is finally defeated and erased from all universes forever. Everyone starts to celebrate, when the pocket universe starts to break down and Master Hand appears, making a grasping motion and sucking everyone into his palm.

Kirby Multimedia Adventure Mode

KIRBY MULTIMEDIA ADVENTURE MODE

The story would open like an episode of the anime. It’s been several years since the defeat of EnEmEe, and Kirby has grown up a bit, to the point that he is ready to truly begin his Star Warrior training. A party is thrown in Cappy Town, and we get to see all of Kirby’s friends from the series and how things have changed for them. Tiff and Tuff are both much older now, Mabel and Samo are now married with a baby, and Escargoon no longer works for King Dedede, who is functionally destitute now that he has no access to monsters for his schemes and lives in the castle all alone.

Kirby heads off with Meta Knight, his crew, and other Star Warriors like Sirica, Kit Cosmos, and Knuckle Joe aboard the Battleship Halberd, bidding farewell to his friends. Tuggle and Gangu surprise him with a new Electronic Pet 2.0 as a going away present. We get a few levels of Kirby out in space, training and battling various Star Warriors and other allies from outside of Pop Star, including several from the comics.

Meanwhile, back on Pop Star, about a week after Kirby’s departure, a fleet of Destroyas appear above Cappy Town, unleashing nearly every monster Nightmare Enterprises ever used, destroying the town and capturing all of Kirby’s friends. King Dedede is brought to the control room where he discovers that the NME Salesman survived headquarters’ destruction all those years ago.

Setting a trap for Kirby, King Dedede and the Salesman put out a message into the universe, telling Kirby that they have his friends and ordering him to surrender to them or else their captives will be harmed. We get a few levels of Tiff, Tuff, and Escargoon working together to break out of their prison, rescue the other captive characters, leading to a battle with King Dedede.

Meanwhile, Kirby receives the message, and he and his Star Warrior allies return to Pop Star, forced to fight their way through a gauntlet of every monster Kirby ever faced in the past. At the end, they join forces with Tiff, Tuff, and their allies and take on the Salesman, who battles them in a giant mech made out of Destroya parts. Upon his defeat, everyone reunites and celebrates, only for a new portal to open up.

Kirby Multimedia Classic Mode

KIRBY MULTIMEDIA CLASSIC MODE

Okay, so, there's a hundred episodes to the anime, so I won't go through it all, but the general gist would be one battle for every episode, with Kirby and whichever ally was relevant to said episode, going up against the monster of the week (or a reasonable proxy for the few who didn't make it in, like say a giant Octillery for the octopus monster in the first episode).

Kirby Adventure Mode

KIRBY ADVENTURE MODE

The story begins with a party being thrown at King Dedede’s castle, with most of Kirby’s allies and enemies-turned-allies in attendance. Both Kirby and King Dedede believe the party is for them, resulting in an eating contest that turns into an all-out brawl between the two of them.

Kirby eventually comes out on top, but his victory is short lived when a dark cloud fills the sky. Eight villains appear, having joined forces to take their revenge and calling themselves the Dark Matter Corps. They combine their powers to create a cosmic vortex that sucks in all of Pop Star and everyone with it, only Kirby managing to make it out.

Kirby then makes his way through eight worlds, with various enemies, bosses, mid-bosses, and friends popping up, all under the control of the Dark Matter Corps. Each one has to be defeated in battle to break them free and have them join his side. King Dedede is the boss of the first world (a pretty generic grassland world), under the control of Dark Matter.

Meta Knight serves as the boss of the second world, set on the Battleship Halberd, with Nightmare controlling him. Dark Mind controls the next world, a mirror world, using Dark Meta Knight as the boss. Dark Nebula controlling Daroach and the Squeak Squad comes next, followed by the Master Crown controlling Magolor and Landia. Star Dream controls President Haltmann and Susie in a tech-based world, and Void Termina controls Hyness and the three Mage Sisters in the Jambastion. Finally, Leongar and the Beast Pack act as the bosses of a Forgotten Land-based world, controlled by Fecto Elfilis.

Finally having freed all of his friends and beaten the eight members of the Dark Matter Corps, the true mastermind is revealed: Zero-Two. Zero-Two flies into a rage and absorbs his eight followers into himself, transforming himself into the even more powerful Zero-X, which serves as the final battle. Finally defeating him, Pop Star is restored, and everyone goes back to their party, only for a new portal to open.

Sub-games include a Kirby Clash-based game with the four Kirby warriors going up against King D-Mind, and a Meta-Knight mode with Galacta Knight and Morpho Knight appearing.
