MARIO KART
Today, let us begin with our two new characters introduced in this last run of games. Specifically, we have one more or less entirely built around the concept of these games, and the other one's a bit more extrapolation, but certainly overdue extrapolation:
1. Mario Kart
2. Waluigi
First up, let's cover Mario Kart. While the character would certainly be a bit quick and unwieldy, I see no reason why it couldn't be viable, especially with the character's arms exposed, allowing for some movement to pull of more moves and attacks. The main color palette would be Mario, mostly within a pipeframe kart like in the early games. The other seven color palettes would follow the main eight featured in most games: Luigi, Peach, Toad, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Wario, and Bowser. If we throw out eight color swaps specifically, we can include other regulars like Koopa, Daisy, and Waluigi.
Most of his moveset will like be based around the various items used in the game, including Banana Peels, Shells, Mushrooms, the Super Star, Lightning, the Blue Spiny Shell, and a bunch of others that only appear once or are more specialized. On top of all that, the parasail, swimming function, and anti-gravity will also likely factor in as well. Let's see what we can do.
Here's the moveset I came up with:
Standard B: Shell
This would be based on the shell items as they appear in the game. Most likely there would also be a special press one could do to determine whether the shell would be green or red. The greens would simply fire forward as a projectile, while the reds would follow players around a bit.
Side B: Mushroom
There are a couple of other options we could go with, like the Bullet Bill or something like the Super Horn, but I like the Mushroom as it would represent the Mario Kart series as a whole a bit better. The driver would hold up a mushroom and use it to give them a sudden burst of speed forward to ram into opponents.
Up B: Balloons
Probably the parasail would work better as a floating option like Peach's parasol or a gliding option like the characters with wings. Instead, I like the idea of the balloons from the Battle modes popping up behind the driver and carrying them upward.
Down B: Banana Peel
The driver will toss a banana peel down behind it, leaving a trap for other players to slip on.
Final Smash: Lightning and Blue Shells
This will combine the two most iconic powerful items in the game. First, lightning will strike, shrinking all players except the user, before the user unleashes a blue shell, which will target the player currently in the lead and explode with a huge blue shockwave.
Entrance: The character will screech onto the stage with a burst of sparks.
Taunts: Up, the character will raise their hands in the air in a standard celebratory dance. Side, the character will zip around in a circle. Down, the character will activate their anti-grav and float for a second.
