As Riruto returns from the dead thanks to a fairy from Link and sets out on his journey, he will cross paths with a lone warrior out in the desert, wearing a scar on his face, and spying out his Master Sword to steal it from him.

It’s Yamcha. It’s literally just Yamcha. Okay, actually it’s Gonza, but still. After a failed attempt to steal the sword, Gonza and Riruto will become friends, and Gonza will be the first of his travel companions.

As a fighter, he will be rough and strong, a bit on the slower side, but with a lot of strong attacks. His moveset will pull from all the various items he uses, such as bombs and daggers.

Alright, so we did have one more semi-big character list in us. Let's get into it! This is all characters I could pull out originating from the Legend of Zelda manga, or were given just enough of a boost by the manga to make it into our rankings. They are:

So, anyway, today's character is definitely not Yamcha. He is simply a thief who lives in the desert, who encounters our hero when he tries to steal their legendary artifact from them, only to befriend them and become their traveling companion. He also just happens to have a spiky hairdo, a scar on his face, and a maybe-romance with the team's female traveling companion. But he's definitely not Yamcha.

Either way, Yamcha uses a sword, throwing daggers, and bombs to fight with, can dash really fast to steal things, and tries to kill our hero at one point with a large rock. Wait, that was Krillin's move! It's not much, but it's more than enough for our purposes here today.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Throwing Dagger

He will throw out his daggers as projectiles, doing a bit of damage when they hit.

Side B: Sword Dash

He will dash really fast forward and slash with his sword in a hard-hitting strike.

Up B: Dash Away

He will dash upward with a flip to get away, much as he does with Riruto early on.

Down B: Bombs

He will pull out a set of bombs and throw them forward, all of them falling in different spots and going off when they land.

Final Smash: Giant Rock

He will lift up a large rock over his head and smash it down on top of his opponent, sending them flying.

Entrance: He will dash in, pocket something, and then dash to another spot.

Taunts: Up, he will jump around and cheer happily. Side, he will admire the master sword and stow it in his back. Down, he will put his hands behind his head and smirk.

Oath of Riruto

OATH OF RIRUTO

Oath of Riruto is a Legend of Zelda manga. Technically. It stars a bunch of characters who are not Link or Zelda, and is set a generation after the events of the first game, with Link, Zelda, and Ganon only really having minor cameos within it. As ghosts. And it was written by Furusawa Junya and Munesue Jin, who clearly wanted to be writing Dragon Ball, but were writing Legend of Zelda for some reason instead. (All that aside, I actually had a lot of fun with this thing and you should totally check it out.)

Oath of Riruto stars Riruto, a young boy growing up in Hyrule a generation after the events of the first game, and who grew up on stories of the great hero Link and his battle with Ganon. One day, he comes upon the Master Sword high in the mountains, and is able to draw it from its pedestal just like Link. He then gets killed by a group trying to free Ganon, and finds himself in the spirit world where he is trained by Link to use the sword and then restored to life (not unlike a certain Goku and King Kai arc). Riruto can wield the sword, shoot lightning from it, perform a spin attack, create a cyclone with it, and fire a sword beam. He also has a shield, the power bracelet, a giant pot, and can grapple and perform a backflip.

He grew up with childhood friend named Kalin, who is the inheritor of Zelda the way he is Link's, but is sadly mostly a damsel in distress for most of the story, only giving off a strong energy aura toward the end. Along his journey, he also picks up three companions: Gonza, a thief who tries to steal his sword (totally not Yamcha); Kala, a girl with a shapeshifting ferret; and Cho, a fat but strong guy (totally not Yajirobe). Gonza wields a sword, throwing daggers, and bombs, tries to crush Riruto with a rock, and dashes really fast. Kala's ferret can change into a giant worm or a dragon, and she herself can punch, and perform a pile driver. Cho is mostly just a companion to Kala, assisting her with a rope he can control and a power bracelet.

Our main villains are a group of four working to resurrect Ganon: Nabat, Haggis, Glasgow, and Hoody. Or at least, they were, until Haggis got power hungry, betrayed his companions, and absorbed Ganon's power into himself, making himself the most Dragon Ball Dragon Ball villain I've ever seen. Glasgow and Hoody go out pretty quick, murdered by Haggis, while Nabat summons a lightning storm in the process of the resurrection. Haggis, on the other hand, rides a steed, wears a protection amulet, can punch, flick really hard, fire arrows from a bow, perform a head bash, strike with the wind, kick, call down a lightning strike, fire a kamehame--excuse me, energy blast, move at lightning speed, and create an energy shield.

It's so Dragon Ball, but I still loved it so much. Anyway, here's what we've got so far:
