Waluigi

As Wario became a constant presence in all of Mario’s multiplayer games, he found himself in need of a partner for games like tennis, seeing as Mario had Luigi and Princess Peach had Daisy. In came his brother, a tall, gangly, slightly flamboyant doppelganger of Luigi.

This is Waluigi, well known for being highly in demand in the Smash community despite his constant rejections. Like his brother, he becomes a constant contender in every multiplayer Mario game, despite never appearing in any adventure game or even any of Wario’s spinoffs.

As a fighter, Waluigi will be fast and agile with decent strength but a large hit box. His moveset will almost make him the ultimate representative of the entire library of Mario sports games, pulling from every single one of them.

Truffle Tower

One of the most unique Mario spinoffs was their brief collaboration with Konami to make a Dance Dance Revolution game starring Mario. The game featured a loose plot involving Waluigi breaking into Truffle Tower and accidentally scattering the four magical music keys across the kingdom.

As a stage, this will be pretty basic, with the fighters fighting on a light-up dance floor in the middle of the stage, with pits on either side. Lines of arrows will rise from the floor to the ceiling on either side of the stage, causing damage to anyone who connects with them and launching them in the direction pointed. The four musical keys will appear and float around in the background.

Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix

DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION: MARIO MIX

Today, let's cover the crossover between the Mario series and Konami's Dance Dance Revolution series. To my mild disappointment, it did not feature a full roster of playable characters to choose from. Rather, you can play as only Mario and Luigi, and the game features a small story mode to work through, featuring Waluigi attempting to steal four special music keys and accidentally scattering them across the Mushroom Kingdom.

As mentioned before, Mario and Luigi are the only playable characters, but the moves have more to do with standard DDR gameplay than anything to do with them. Now, when the day comes we cover Konami and the DDR series respectively, you can be sure a DDR Dancer is getting on the roster, but for the moment, it doesn't really do much for us. Toad, Toadette, and Lakitu all appear likewise as hosts and supporting characters, and Waluigi, Wario, and Bowser act as final bosses, facing you in a dance off. Outside of that, Goombas, Koopa Troopas, Shy Guys, Piranha Plants, Boos, Cheep Cheeps, Bloopers, Ukikis, Hammer Bros, Chain Chomps, Bullet Bills, and Penguins all appear as enemies, and Gooper Blooper and a Giant Freezie act as additional bosses.

Our stages include: Truffle Tower, the music temple Waluigi breaks into in the beginning; SS Brass, an ocean liner; Corkscrew Hotel, a haunted house stage; Wario Carnival, a carnival stage; Snowy Peak, an ice stage; and Bowser's Castle.
