Character Sheet: All Alolan Forms

ALOLAN RATTATA/RATICATE/RAICHU/SANDSHREW/SANDSLASH/VULPIX/NINETALES/ DIGLETT/DUGTRIO/MEOWTH/PERSIAN/GEODUDE/GRAVELER/GOLEM/GRIMER/MUK/ EXEGGUTOR/MAROWAK

One of the newest gimmicks of Generation VII was the introduction of Regional forms, where Pokemon will have adapted in various ways to different environments in new regions, gaining new typings and changing up their stats here and there. Most of those in Alola came from Kanto lines. For our series, I am treating them as functionally Echo Fighters, just with new type equivalents for attacks where available.

First, we have Rattata and Raticate, who have now added a Dark typing alongside their normal, having become much fiercer by living in the cities of Alola and competing more for food. Raticate especially has a mob boss vibe.

Standard B: Bite > Crunch

Side B: Quick Attack

Up B: Pursuit

Down B: Tail Whip > Sucker Punch

Final Smash: Black Hole Eclipse

After that, we have Alolan Raichu, who has become a chill surfer bro from . . . eating pancakes? I assume they were laced with THC, but that’s just me. It also has Psychic powers now and can surf on its tail.

Standard B: Psychic

Side B: Thunder Punch

Up B: Quick Attack

Down B: Light Screen

Final Smash: Stoked Sparksurfer

After that, we have Sandshrew and Sandslash, who are now well-adapted to living in snowy environments, gaining an Ice type as well as a Steel type, their claws now resembling ice picks used by mountain climbers.

Standard B: Metal Claw > Icicle Spear

Side B: Rollout

Up B: Rapid Spin > Blizzard

Down B: Powder Snow > Snowscape

Final Smash: Subzero Slammer

Vulpix and Ninetales also gained the Ice typing, this time now being based on arctic foxes instead of red foxes. Ninetales also gained the Fairy type.

Standard B: Ice Shard > Aurora Beam

Side B: Quick Attack > Dazzling Gleam

Up B: Powder Snow > Blizzard

Down B: Icy Wind

Final Smash: Subzero Slammer

After that, we have Diglett and Dugtrio, who are now covered in Pele’s hair, a type of long metal strands found on Hawaii, created by volcanic activity, giving them a Steel typing and making them look like Hansen.

Standard B: Bulldoze > Earth Power

Side B: Metal Claw

Up B: Iron Head > Sandstorm

Down B: Dig

Final Smash: Corkscrew Crash

Next up, Meowth and Persian have also become Dark for much the same reasons as Rattata and Raticate, being based on feral alley cats, and for some reason, Persian swallowed a watermelon.

Standard B: Pay Day

Side B: Scratch > Night Slash

Up B: Assurance

Down B: Bite > Nasty Plot

Final Smash: Black Hole Eclipse

Next, we have Geodude, Graveler, and Golem, who now have magnetic materials making up their body, giving them Electric powers as well as their Rock powers. Golem even resembles a taser or a rail gun.

Standard B: Rock Throw > Thunder Punch (II)

Side B: Rollout > Bulldoze (III)

Up B: Smack Down > Heavy Slam (III)

Down B: Spark > Discharge (II)

Final Smash: Gigavolt Havoc

Grimer and Muk also have a new form, this time based more on an oil spill, as sometimes tends to happen, gaining a Dark typing probably due to the devastating environmental effects those typically cause.

Standard B: Poison Fang

Side B: Acid Spray > Poison Gas

Up B: Gunk Shot

Down B: Harden > Acid Armor

Final Smash: Black Hole Eclipse

Next up, we have Exeggutor, now with ridiculously long necks in order to more resemble the true height of palm trees, especially in sunny tropical areas. It’s also Dragon-type for some reason.

Standard B: Giga Drain

Side B: Dragon Hammer

Up B: Growth

Down B: Seed Bomb

Final Smash: Devastating Drake

And finally, we have Marowak, who gains both a Ghost and Fire typing, and becomes more of a fire dancer, commonly seen around Hawaiian luaus and such, using its bone as the flaming baton.

Standard B: Shadow Bone

Side B: Bonemerang

Up B: Flame Wheel

Down B: Perish Song

Final Smash: Never-Ending Nightmare

Most of the additional stuff would mirror their base forms, just updated to match their new theming.

And that’s about it! Next up, the Tapus awaken to protect their islands.
