Ganon wasn’t the only character “The Original Version” shook up, as Impa came in the form of a young thief who became a companion to Link throughout his adventure against Ganos, who he thought was a boy until the end.

This is Com, short for Commy Impa, a young orphan girl who became a thief in order to survive, coming across Link when she tried to steal from him, and who accompanied him on his adventure, helping him use the Triforce to finish off Ganos once and for all.

As a fighter, she probably won’t be quite as stealth-based as the standard Impa’s, considering she wasn’t very good at not getting caught. Her moveset will pull from her own abilities as well as the major unique aspects of her manga.

Way back when, all writers had to go on was basic sprites and a simplistic plot upon which to base their adaptations, so naturally some of them ended up pretty weird. One of the earliest portrayed Ganon as a powerful lion warrior rather than the giant pig we are all used to.

Known as Ganos, possibly as a translation error, this version of Ganon was the main villain of the manga Legend of Zelda: An Original Version. For all intents and purposes, he filled the same role as Ganon, capturing Zelda in order to get the Triforce, he just fights a little differently.

As a fighter, he will be much more of a brawler and swordfighter than just the average Ganon who’s a bit more of a powerhouse, with more speed and a bit less power than before. His moves will be based on those unique abilities demonstrated in his comic.

The Legend of Zelda: An Original Version was a manga that took about as many liberties with the source material as Yuu Mishouzaki's version did. We already covered how Impa was reworked into a little thief that Link believed to be a boy until the final chapter. The manga's version of Ganon was likewise nearly indistinguishable, being a fearsome lion-man instead of a pig who went by Ganos, probably some form of translation error.

This version of Ganon wielded a sword and could spit fireballs from his mouth. He could also spew smoke that would choke out his enemies and leave them unconscious. And, at least somewhat in keeping with the original work, could trap his foes in jewels, as done with Zelda. It's not too much, but more than enough.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Fireball

He will spit an intense fireball from his mouth across the stage as a projectile.

Side B: Sword Strike

He will lunge forward with his sword, striking hard for a killing blow.

Up B: Smoke

He will spew a thick cloud of smoke from his mouth, disappearing inside of it and reappearing somewhere else, while it paralyzes any fighter it touches.

Down B: Jewel

He will cast a magical spell and freeze anyone hit by it in a jewel for a few seconds, similar to an ice effect.

Final Smash: Triforce of Power

Just like the Triforce Blast Link and Com used to defeat him, Ganos will stand before his own Triforce and let loose a blast of destructive energy.

Entrance: He will emerge from shadow and draw his sword.

Taunts: Up, he will hold up a jewel containing the Princess Zelda inside of it. Side, he will swing around his sword and sheath it. Down, he will laugh evilly as smoke billows around him.

Today, let's cover Com, a sort-of original character from The Legend of Zelda: An Original Version by Kitadono Mitsunori and Miyazoe Ikuo. Com originally appears as a semi-knockoff of Biri, a young thief who becomes Link's companion to guide him on his journey. It's not until the final chapter when Com comes out in a dress, that she is revealed to be a girl and her name is . . . Commy Impa? Um, okay then.

Com herself is seen in the manga stealing, throwing rocks, biting an opponent, and healing Link with a potion. Likewise, considering she is the most prominent unique character in the story, she could stand to be a gimmick rep, thus bringing in Cryckon the crystalline bird, Link's ability to freeze his enemies in time, and the Triforce blast the heroes perform together.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Time Freeze

She will thrust forward and use Link's time spell, freezing her opponents in their last pose for a few seconds at a time.

Side B: Steal

She will grasp forward, being able to grab an item out of an opponent's hand. Very useful when used in tandem with Time Freeze.

Up B: Cryckon

The little crystalline bird will appear, grab Com by the hands, and carry her upwards, just like Watto for Biri.

Down B: Potion

Being Link's go-to potion keeper, she will pull one out and down it herself, healing herself of some damage.

Final Smash: Triforce Blast

She and Cryckon will stand together and launch a Triforce blast in the same way they did with Link in the manga's climax.

Entrance: She will stick her head up from behind a rock.

Taunts: Up, she will twirl and her dress from the end will appear for a second. Side, she will look around furtively and clutch some stolen goods to her chest. Down, she will crouch down behind a rock.
