Linkle

LINKLE

Though the original Hyrule Warriors game would only include sixteen playable characters, either original or pulled specifically from Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess, and Skyward Sword, later DLC and two re-releases on other systems would bring in characters from Majora’s Mask, Wind Waker, Spirit Tracks, Link Between Worlds, and Link’s Awakening, creating a roster of thirty-nine playable characters. Among all these characters was a new character, a gender-swapped version of Link himself.

This is Linkle, a female Link or, more or less, presented as one. In reality, she is a plucky but slightly ditzy farmgirl who grew up on stories of the hero of legend, convincing herself that she was the inheritor of his spirit to the point that, when Cia’s army invaded, she set off on her own quest to defeat the evil.

In Hyrule Warriors, she had two major movesets available, one dual-wielding crossbows and the other using the Pegasus Boots in a kick-heavy arsenal. Her moveset here will pull from both of those, with her stats mirroring Link’s own, if a little bit quicker.

Likelihood rating: Good possibility.

Hyrule Warriors Ports

HYRULE WARRIORS PORTS

Today, let's finish off with the Hyrule Warriors ports. The original game was released for the Wii U, but a 3DS port, Hyrule Warriors Legends, was released not long after, bringing with it the already added DLC characters Twili Midna, Young Link, and Tingle, plus the new characters of Linkle, Skull Kid, Toon Link, Tetra, and King Daphnes, who would shortly be added back to the original as DLC. It also came with two new story modes, one focusing on Linkle's adventures and another focusing on Tetra.

Later, when the Switch came out, Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition was released, this time will all previous DLC characters built into the base game, with Breath of the Wild skins for both Link and Zelda. Other than that, there's not a whole lot else to report on, so I think we'll be moving on.

What do we have?
