And now, let's finish off the generation's Pokemon with our final three Legendaries and/or Mythicals. First up, we have Victini, a Mythical that actually came at the very start of the Gen, even before the starters. Victini is a little fairy that blesses those who see it with victory, pulling elements from the Greek goddess Nike, and a lot of "V" imagery, tying in with it being the start of Gen V.

Standard B: Searing Shot

Final Smash: Victory Blessing

Next up is Meloetta, a Mythical with two distinct forms, based on a singer or dancer respectively, with lots of musical imagery to it.

And finally, we have Genesect, sorta kinda the new Mewtwo, also being a clone of an ancient Pokemon created in a lab with a purple color scheme, except this one is some sort of big ancient insect that has been fused with mechanical cyborg parts and weaponry.

Up B: Magnet Rise

Down B: Fell Stinger

Final Smash: Self-Destruct

All would appear by teleporting in or breaking free from their test tube. Their taunts would be based on their general themes, like holding up a "V" sign or doing a little dance. The Kirby hats would be the big red V, Meloetta's sheet music hair wrap, and Genesect's back cannon. Karts would mostly be the Poke Ball car, with V-Create, Perish Song, and Techno Blast as the special move. Spirit Battles would be on Wish Park, Black City, and maybe Glacier Palace. Victory screens would be holding up the V sign, doing a pirouette then bowing, and powering down. Losing screen would all be fainted with the spiral eyes. Color swaps would be mains, shinies, and other colors.

Character Sheet: The Tao Trio

RESHIRAM/ZEKROM/KYUREM

Next up, let's cover the box legendaries of the generation, Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyurem, the first two being a white and black dragon respectively, representing the Taoist concept of Yin and Yang. The third dragon is Kyurem, a gray alien dragon that fell to Earth centuries ago, before splitting into Reshiram and Zekrom, Kyurem's body being the former dragon left behind.

Here's the movesets I came up with:

Standard B: Fire Blast | Bolt Srike | Ice Beam

Side B: Dragon Breath

Up B: Ancient Power

Down B: Fusion Flare | Fusion Bolt | Glaciate

Final Smash: Absofusion

Entrance: Their summoning cutscene from the games

Taunts: Roaring, charging their tails with their elements, flinging around the plug wings for Kyurem, things like that.

Kirby Hat: Their respective fur colors and wings

Spirit Battle: On N's Castle (Glacier Palace is also a good option for Kyurem)

Character Sheet: The Forces of Nature

TORNADUS/THUNDURUS/LANDORUS

Next up, let's cover the Kami Trio, or the Forces of Nature, each based on a different Japanese god. The first two, Tornadus and Thundurus, are based on Fujin and Raijin, twin storm gods and children of Izanagi and Izanami. Landorus, the third member, is based on a land deity, possibly Inari. They would get a fourth member in Generation VIII, which also made them a clear reference to the Four Auspicious Beasts of Chinese mythology through their bestial therian forms, but we'll cover that fourth one later.

Here's the movesets I came up with:

Standard B: Air Slash | Shock Wave | Bulldoze

Side B: Hammer Arm

Up B: Hurricane | Volt Switch | Sandstorm

Down B: Reveal Glass

THE SWORDS OF JUSTICE

Next up, let's cover our first set of Legendaries, these being our roaming legendaries Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion, as well as their Mythical fourth member Keldeo. These four are all various ungulates of mostly generic design, though the ibex, cape buffalo, gazelle, and horse are probably the closest inspiration for each. They are also heavily based on the Three Musketeers of literary fame, with Cobalion representing Athos, Terrakion representing Porthos, Virizion being Aramis, and Keldeo being their fourth companion D'artagnan. Keldeo also pulls from unicorns and kelpies, both mythical horses.

Here's the movesets I came up with:

Standard B: Sacred Sword

Side B: Iron Head | Stone Edge | Leaf Blade | Hydro Pump

Up B: Double Kick (CVK) | Rock Slide (T)

Down B: Quick Guard (CT) | Giga Drain (V) | Secret Sword (K)

Entrance: Appearing in a rush of wind

Taunts: Posing while raising their "swords" to the sky, other common Musketeer poses, things like that.

Kirby Hat: Their respective "swords" and manes surrounding said swords.

Victory Screen: Standing tall and raising their swords in victory

AUDINO/BASCULIN/MARACTUS/SIGILYPH/EMOLGA/ALOMOMOLA/CRYOGONAL/STUNFISK/DRUDDIGON/BOUFFALANT

And now, let's cover all of the standalone Pokemon in Gen V who are not Legendaries or Mythicals. First up, is Audino, very much the new Chansey, a pink something-or-other with some elements of a nurse to its design, complete with stethoscope ears.

Final Smash: Mega Audino

Next we have Basculin, based on bass and trout and other types of fish known for their upstream migrations in order to spawn. In Gen V, these had two variants in the lines along their sides, one red and one blue.

Final Smash: Final Gambit

Next we have Maractus, a cactus similar to the Cacturne line, except with elements of maracas and dancers from various South and Central American cultures.

Then we have Sigilyph, one of the coolest new Pokemon in overall concept, based on the Nazca lines down in South America, reimagined into a 3D model if all lines and shapes are taken literally as is.

Final Smash: Cosmic Power

Next is our Pikachu clone for the generation in Emolga, based on a flying squirrel this time around.

After that, we have Alomomola, another Pokemon that is based on a sunfish, with a pink color scheme and a general emphasis on hearts and love in its theming, but is somehow not(?) an evolution of Luvdisc. My headcanon is that it was planned to be, but then the developers decided they wanted to fully reboot the dex with no returning Pokemon, so they just made it its own thing.

Standard B: Healing Wish

Side B: Helping Hand

Up B: Whirlpool

Down B: Wide Guard

Final Smash: Wish

After that, we have Cryogonal, which is basically just a big living snowflake/ice crystal, with all the fractal shaping and such.

Standard B: Ice Shard

Side B: Aurora Beam

Up B: Icy Wind

Down B: Light Screen

Final Smash: Sheer Cold

Next, we have Stunfisk, based mostly on flounders or general flatfish, with the eyes on one side and everything. They also pull a bit from hidden traps and snares, even more so in the Galarian form.

Down B: Discharge

Final Smash: Earthquake

After that, we have Druddigon, a big standalone dragon based mostly on the red-headed rock agama lizard in its coloration, with a bit pulled in from gargoyles and castle architecture.

Down B: Dragon Tail

Final Smash: Outrage

And finally we have Bouffalant, based primarily on American Bison, with a bit of longhorn steer thrown in. Basically, another one of those with a clear "American" concept, explaining its placement right next to Braviary. I guess you could say it's the new Tauros.

Final Smash: Giga Impact

Entrance would be Poke Ball for all. Taunts would be based on their individual concepts. Kirby hats would be Audino ears, Basculin fins, Maractus head cacti, Sigilyph patterning and wings, Emolga ears, Alomomola fins, Cryogonal crystals, Stunfisk fins, Druddigon head crusties, and Bouffalant afro. Kart would mostly be the Poke Ball car, except for the fast ones or fliers, with their most iconic move. Spirit Battles would be whichever of the six Gen V stages fit them best. Victory Screens would be based on their individual theming, and losing screens would all be fainted. Color swaps is mostly the main and shinies for all, except in cases where there are variants, like Basculin.

Character Sheet: The Larvesta Line

LARVESTA/VOLCARONA

Next up, let's cover what is apparently not a pseudo-legendary according to most fans because it's a two-stager, which I find really dumb, because it is OBVIOUSLY a pseudo-legendary, but maybe there's a stats thing I don't understand. I don't know. Either way, this line is based on Mothra of the Godzilla-verse, pairing up nicely with its fellow pseudo Hydreigon, and is a giant moth that absorbs and produces solar energy, its baby form also taking some inspiration from the Olympic torch.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Bug Bite > Fire Blast

Side B: Flame Charge

Up B: Flame Wheel > Fiery Dance

Down B: Leech Life > Heat Wave

Final Smash: Solar Flare

Entrance: Poke Ball

Taunts: Fluttering its wings and spinning in the air, glowing bright like the sun for a second, things like that.

Kirby Hat: Their wings

Kart: The Poke Ball car

Special Move: Flame Charge

Spirit Battle: On N's Castle

Victory Screen: Rising into the air and glowing brightly like the sun

Losing Screen: Fainted

Next up, we have the generation's pseudo-legendary line, the Deino line. These three are based on Hydras from Greek Mythology, with a new head joining the rest with each new evolution. They also pull heavily from King Ghidorah of the Godzilla franchise, in the same vein as the next line after them that I'll be covering tomorrow.

Here's the moveset I came up with:

Standard B: Crunch > Hyper Beam (III)

Side B: Dragon Breath > Dragon Rush (II)

Up B: Body Slam > Outrage (III)

Down B: Dragon Pulse > Hyper Voice (II)

Taunts: The different heads biting at each other, roaring in challenge, things like that.
